Southampton (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Southampton were pathetic, 10 men inside their box and wasting time with 10 minutes to go at 1-0 down, hopefully they go down again because no one wants to see that shite.
The way it's going, we'll be lucky to find 5 teams who don't put 10 men inside their box.

Hardly a classic but that's another win during this bumpy point of the season with all these injuries.

And that's us another week closer to getting players fit again, plus another week closer to January when we can fill the squad up.

Most importantly though, that's TWO YEARS unbeaten at home in the league. Incredible time to be following this club.
The longer we can grind this end of the season, the more it increases our chances of five in a row.
It’s all about the next slog, however you do it. Attrition accounts for most who fall by the wayside…

A win is a win. I hate the criticism for us supposedly playing crap by not scoring shedloads against teams who put 11 in the box, and pray for a breakaway goal.

it is NOT us that makes these games a tough watch. What the hell are you supposed to do? The fact we can keep winning these games at all is bloody impressive.
Absolutely, I have zero complaints about today.

Didn't imagine we'd end up hanging on at the end! Regardless of who's playing, injured or not playing we need to work on how we convert chances into goals and maybe risk losing posession in the build up rather than letting the opposition get back into shape before we attempt to pass through them. Every team we play knows exactly what to expect.

Lost my feed so not able to watch, but no way was I going on the matchday thread !

Too many fuckwits and sad bastards who think players just being able to walk onto the pitch should ensure 3 points with a hatful of goals to go with it.

Team has a lot of injuries and games and is in transition. No team has got near 4 premier league title let alone 5.

It’s a fantastic achievement to be unbeaten.

Add to the low block the fact that teams time waste against us when losing! The City lads must be knackered constantly having to make the running in games

Insane stat given by Ali Mann there: he claims that that is City first clean sheet in the league at the Etihad since March! That seems impossible. I'm going to check it.

That stat is correct! Well fuck me with a feather! (to mix colloquialisms…)
And by God do I remember the match: us against Arsenal, 31/3. One of the most grindingly boring matches I've ever had the misery of sitting through.
