Stadium Developments thread - New Birmingham City Stadium revealed (p57)

I heard a rumour last week from someone who apparently knows someone at the club, and also is a part of the Freeman of the city that we (Newcastle United) are looking to build a 90k-100k capacity stadium on Leazes Parks/Castle Leazes.

I very much doubt we would ever get permission for a capacity that high, and I also think there would be a lot of pushback to have an of it built on Leazes Park. So if it’s true, I think it will be part of a plan to come out with a high capacity, and settle for 80k, which would have been their ultimate aim in anyway.

I was working in Liverpool today and took a drive down there

It’s absolutely huge and pretty damn impressive from the outside

The photos of the inside are pretty underwhelming but maybe they don’t do it justice

I reckon away fans will drink in the city centre then walk down. It’s only about 1.5 miles

Manchester United have put back a final decision on stadium development until next summer.

Yet a final decision on a new stadium versus redevelopment of Old Trafford has been pushed back to next summer as the club wait for greater clarity over feasibility options, including potential relocation of the freight terminal and the Mayor’s budget in March.
