Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Got lots to work on. KdB looks well of it, Foden needs to improve. We need players back to fitness.

Things have been worse before so I'm not going to get too upset by this run. I've said a few times now, we're built for the highs and the lows and not get carried away by either.

That team was always going to struggle over 90 mins. Some absolute clowns on this forum though. The team is ravaged beyond belief and confidence will be low. What do they expect from Pep, miracles?

Rico lewis is not a defender.
Fuck off with this nonsense. There's bigger things at play here. The idea that Rico, whom could do nothing about the first goal (as 3 other defenders stood and watched Pedro come in) and the 2nd goal they just sliced us open (which is never one person's fault). It's just reductive bollocks and looking for someone to blame.

This team has given us so much so there's no hard feelings, but it needs a big rebuild. Should have let 3 or 4 go last summer, and looks increasingly like we've brought Gundo back to give us a problem that we'd managed. We've come back from similar positions and 5 points is fuck all at this point in the season but there was some shocking performances in that second half. I appreciate injuries are bad, but there's a handful of senior players that need to have a proper word with themselves. Ederson just about the only player who can hold his head up after that.

This team doesn't have the mental strength to stay ahead or not concede.

We NEED stones and Grealish and Kevin and dias, and ake and akanji and Rodri back.

This isn't going to be like peps first year and all you flappers need to keep your flaps closed. We are not finished yet... its just that our opponents will think we are.

Get those players back and we don't melt in these games and moments.

Barcelona Milan United Bayern - all have similar stories to tell

Empires fall - you don’t recruit right for long, you get complacent, you don’t carry the succession plan perfect, you make undeserving players caption, you over pay, you give a player or manager too much power , you hesitate to taken the right step at the right time and eventually shit hits the fan and clubs bigger than us have fallen prey to us.

Let’s see what will be done next -
Let players dictate terms wrt when they want to leave eg palmer or BSilva
let the going manager dictate terms wrt their succession plan - like the rags did
Keep manager longer than desired - aka Wenger
Keep going back to glory days again like Rags

Exciting season ahead!

We might actually be missing Rodri just as much OFF the pitch as we do on it. There is no leader in the dressing room to crack some skulls. Watch Rodri in the documentaries, he cares, he’s a winner, a leader, and he’ll do whatever it takes to drag us out of this. He wouldn’t have allowed it to get this bad to begin with.

We played a great FH. We just don't have the squad to comepte for the entire match.

I like the 3 in the back, we looked more solid and Savinho and Haaland were great. People here will be way too over dramatic, but I liked the signs from today. We'll see what we look like when we have more players available, but I am pretty hopeful. Brighton is a really good team. I enjoyed that match a lot.
How did we look solid? For fuck sake Brighton had loads of decent chances. You enjoyed the match? Seriously?

I know he’s been injured, but it’s sad to see Kevin on the downhill slide. He’s had one injury too many. We have a lot of talented players still but too many are not putting any effort in. Without Rodri, we’ve been totally found out and teams will continue to have confidence they can win games. we’re gonna struggle to get top four at this rate.

I was called this that, and the other when I was criticizing us despite us winning earlier in the season, and, well, the chickens have come home to roost. I said giving Walker a three-year extension, despite Pep benching him in the CL final, was utterly ridiculous, and I have been proven right, for over two years now, at that.

The harsh truth is that Pep is more concerned about his net spend and how it looks upon his legacy than the quality of our current squad. I know that will be controversial, but surely this won’t: he’ll leave the club in far worse shape for the next manager than he found it. I refuse to believe he could watch Cole Palmer in our matches/training, day in and day out, and say,’ yeah, he CAN’T go on loan. He either stays or is sold.’ while having the CLUB’s interest at heart.

As I said before, a downturn was expected, but the squad planning has been awful, and if it solely has to do with the charges against us, then fair enough.

We’ve got a fight on our hands for the top four now.
Rubbish
