Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Couldn't have put it better myself, well said,we lost a game in a cup that no one wants to be in,a game in champions league from which we will qualify easily IMHO,and 2 games in Premier league in November with the whole of the season still to go to put it right, which I have no doubt we will
We ain't fit, strong, fast enough in middle of park. We get bossed/ no tackles/ no headers/ no bollox what's so ever atm.

Haha..
Won't be the tarquins..

Dippers main threat.

Arsenal are odd. They haven't got out of first gear yet and stuttering. Liverpool will have a slump and the Salah saga continues.

You have had rotten injuries, lost the best player in the world, yet still are second in the league. It's not a bad slump to be in, and you always finish the season strong. I'm sure they'll be recruits in January too.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a collection of players seemingly turn old, knackered and unfit almost overnight like this.. whilst the people who could have stopped it happening stood by and did nothing
Recruitment has been absolutely abysmal since the treble.

Gvardiol has proven decent but would you pick him over ake at lb if everyone is fit and available? I don’t think he’s as defensively strong as ake but would depend on opposition.

We’ve not made one signing who has improved the starting 11 or provided any kind of stern competition.

We have also let most of the premier league capable academy players go in palmer, delap, harwood bellis, Doyle, rogers etc in order to raise funds but haven’t invested any of it back into the squad to refresh.

Pep knows. The players know. We are in transition with critical injuries and mental and physical fatigue. We are still on for a record 5th PL title. The CL is still on and the new world club champions a target.

Stop being needy and be positive. The end of season outcomes are what count.

All it will take is a couple of injured players back to get us to the January transfer window, then hopefully everyone on the board and Pep will strengthen the squad, as it’s absolutely clear we desperately need to.

All the recent seasons we’ve barely spent, now is the time to start using those significant funds to get back to being the top team in the league.

There can be no excuses, money must be spent, it has to be obvious to everyone running the club that age and injuries have weakened us severely.
The problem isn't injury...thisviz an excuse...if we are reliant on rodri then there is a bigger problem

We played our best football last season without kdb.....however now gundo is part it and foden for what ever reason is struggling

Stones fitness has been inconsistent for years... the club know this

Everyone said pre season that we needed a defensive midfielder...the club didn't do it.

Kovacic, nunes...people called it 12 months ago...not good enough....

Walker struggled at times last season
Rico ...good in midfield mid third not great in attacking or defensive 3rd

These performances have been waiting to happen ....it was all there right in front of everyone but proplgot carried away both results rather than performances

Why you going on about Rodri only?? What about our entire back 4 out???

Our opponents used to see us as a deadly Cobra ready to strike. Now they see us as an old Cobra with its venom sack removed.

Arse are odd.

We haven't even got in gear yet.

I don't think the dippers will have a slump , quietly getting on with it.

Mo salad will go on uninjured and help them.

Can't see us spending in January because ( charges aside) we seem to be penny pinching.

Not with this squad mate, surely you can see how weak it is compared to past seasons?

People have said that each season. Each season something was wrong with the squad.

One year it was the left back position, then we were without Dias for a long time, then there was no playmaker with KDB out, this year its being without Rodri.

Let's all judge at the end of the season rather than some declaring we're 'finished' before mid-November.

Another one on Pep for me getting his changes wrong, before I get bummed I know injuries aren’t helping but he took away our outlet bringing savio off and we just sat back and invited them on, not sure what he’s saying at half time either. Thinks he’s running out of ideas to change what he’s being left with after shit transfer windows, he won’t be here next season for me
I totally agree, the changes just invited them to waltz through. The fact that Foden went right for 5 then left with nunes going centre was also weird

Only just catching up (been out to see Ned Boulting’s latest show, highly recommended if you have an interest in cycling btw, think he’s at the Lowry tomorrow), and just reading Pep’s post match comments. Seems pretty sensible and measured to me.

They know to paddle over to their left wing position as 9/10 they will get to byline and pass it across our 6 yard box to score! Kyle should have gone to Saudi or bayern in summer. Big mistake. He was a liability before he got injured not buying that shite

Sorry to say it, but Pep needs to go, needs to announce he’s moving on at end of season in this international break - deciding to do a 1 year extension is pointless now, we need evolution. He's nearer going than staying and the time has come, imo.
Who do you replace him with?

How the fuck can the squad be mentally and physically exhausted in early November

What will they be like in early April?

What will they be like this time next year after that pointless club World Cup and 3 weeks holiday?

Kovacic has been a great signing, him and Rodri would be immense
