This Grealish thing is weird and I don't like it, he has been underwhelming, that's a fact, what is this cult like obsession that people have with him and are in total denial.

He is a 100m, 300K wide player that creates little and scores even less in the best attacking team in the world.

Has he been poor, a big no, but has he been a success?
I would argue that he's been poor

No. My point is that he has been average basically all of his time in Manchester.
He had a great spell from Christmas up to the end of the season in the treble season, but sadly , a few great games apart has gone back to been underwhelming.

He should now be a huge leader in this side, again not sure he is, he still has so much self doubt which does amaze me for such a talented player.

And if he was made available, would many top sides want him?
If he played for Rags and put up show what he is doing, BM would be making fun of him day in day out

Awful lot of Spurs fans on twitter fervently wishing the rumours of their interest to be true (I'll let you argue how much of a top side they are but surely the gulf between us isn't that great) and lamenting that Levy probably won't fork out for him.

I saw more than one of them saying he suits them more than Son, which is even more proof than this thread that football fans really don't appreciate what they have.

Spurs, he is the epitome of a Spurs player.

Newcastle are the club for him, he would be their new Gascoigne, Beardsley, Ginola, the Geordies would love him and he would be the main man, something he needs to be.

Talk of a return to Villa are nonsense, no way would they want him back , they have moved on to be a top side under Emery.

I think he’s been very underwhelming for us but I think if he moves to the right club for him he could thrive there. A bit like if Pogba or Sanchez had came to city instead of United I think their careers would have be been totally different

I think he came to City specifically to prove to the world (and in particular Gareth Southgate) that he's not that maverick type player, that he can follow instructions and work to a plan and doesn't actually have to be the main man.

Maybe the whole situation's changed now and he doesn't have to maintain that image anymore and could go to one of those clubs and shine and still get picked for England which obviously means a whole lot to him.

I am a fan, I think he's learned a lot with us and although he hasn't set the world alight as I'd hoped he would (and as you could argue the price tag demands he should) I think he's learned and grown and helped us a lot. Equally, in order to do that, he's had to suppress a lot of what made him special to start with.

If (and it really is an if at the moment, we simply don't have enough evidence) as some people think, his relationship with Pep had broken down irreparably, it'd be best for everyone if he moved on. If it's more a case that he's had some injuries and personal problems thst the club has supported him through and when all is sorted he wants to repay that support by pushing himself to be his best, then I'd be more than happy for him to stay.

Get him back after the international break and get him in the middle of the park. His ball retention is one of the best at the club. He can and will run like fuck and if he isn’t told to just pass inside or backwards, which I’m convinced he is, he will be more creative.

We bought him from Villa because he excelled in a more central role, then put him on the wing. I agree he’s been underwhelming for the most part, but let’s give him a chance. It’s the perfect opportunity

I am not sure about this issue of Pep telling him to play with caution, even more so when you see the way Doku and Savio play and add Sane and Sterling to that in the past.

Grealish has become far more disciplined but he had to if he wanted to play at the elite level.

The issue for me is self belief, something that looking at Grealish from the outside is incredible to question, but Jack seems to be his biggest critic and problem.

Your opinion mate, not a fact at all

It is but on here a lot of Grealish fans that seem to put player before club.

His situation has echoes of the Rodney Marsh signing back in the day, Grealish has been far more successful and not a disruption but I have not known a player have such divided opinions in our fan base.

Whoever came up with this narrative has to quit their day job and go into PR (if they aren't already in that line of business). Politicians would be impressed, It was a brilliant play and a lot of fans fell for it (I fell for it myself), sadly we are now finally realising that his poor performance and underwhelming time here has nothing to do with Pep's instructions.

‘Spurs fans on Twitter’. Fucking hell. Ask them the lottery numbers.
