Put your blue specs on. Even if we don’t get top four the money from the Club World Cup compensates for a year out of the Chumps Lge.

Not.Even.Close.

FIFA struggling for sponsors. Even Ancelotti came out and said that the current offer to Real Madrid for the whole tournament is only about 60% of the revenue Madrid receives for ONE GAME!

Teams are asking what money is available to determine whether they send EDS teams to the CWC and do their usual holiday break & pre-season tours with the First Team!

Oh yer the crowd tonight was true fans
It’s just so many young lads on this forum saying they are going to support other team now. How fragile are they

We used to loose to Middlesbrough 8-1
anyone here remember ?
for fuck sake its not that long ago. there plenty here in their 50s 60s and 70s

Let's be honest we are going to Anfield as underdogs. The pressure will be on them rather than us and maybe that will suit us and make them nervous?

Yes I'm clutching at straws...
Typical City will strike next week… we’ve been the best team in Europe for most of the last six years and we haven’t won at Anfield in front of fans in that time, but now we’re as bad as we’ve been since Pellegrini we’ll go to Anfield next week and win.

'In eight years we have never lived this kind of situation'

Man City boss Pep Guardiola speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "In this moment we are fragile defensively. We started really well as normal but we could not score and then after that we conceded. After that we conceded some more which is difficult for our emotions right now.

"In eight years we have never lived this kind of situation. Now we have to live it and break it winning the next games, especially the next one. Now we see things in one way, maybe in a few weeks we see it differently."

On if the players are struggling: "Of course. We are happy when we win and concerned when we don't win. It's normal. There would be a problem if they were not worried or I am not worried.

"We are not used to doing this situation but life is like this. Sometimes it happens and we have to accept it. It is what it is now and we will stand up and do it."

On technical issues: "I would say that it is not a question of tactics when you lose these types of games. There are details of course but this situation is how you react in some moments. And things are different when you lose three league games in a row."

On his new deal and feeling the challenge: "The fire is when you win a lot of games, which is better than when you are losing, but we accept this. We have to move forward and break it and try."

0-4 Tottenham

Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola told Sky Sports: "We do not expect opponents to not create chances and score goals. We're in the moment. We started really well, we had chances and after the first time they arrive we concede. Then it's a bit more difficult to come back.

"Chances were there. The moment they create the chances the build-up, we coudn't handle the duels like normally. Now we're struggling a little bit.

"It cannot happen. When you play top level teams we can concede chances but it's part of process. In our situation it's a bit tougher.

"I have to see the situation. The players came back late [from internationals]. There were a few reasons we're not able to be consistent. Now the balance is not in the right moment. But it happened. We have to do it, talk and on Tuesday against Feyenoord have the chance to try.

"Of course Rodri is important but we knew that for many months. But Stones can only play 45 minutes. Jack has been injured many times. Kevin, two months and five months.

"We have to come back and freshen our minds. The season is so long. Many things can happen.

"Before the game I didn't know what will happen today. So I don't know what will happen at Anfield. Everyone knows the situation is new for us. We struggled more without the ball. I don't know how many chances we created. Our game was there."

C'mon Baldy, these players have been losing duels repeatedly in this run of games, why expect it to be different? The only discernible difference is that against Sporting & Brighton we looked alright for 45 minutes, rather than 10, but the outcomes matched the overall performances

Well that was fucking dreadful, again.

No passion, we’re slow, we’re soft, we’re embarrassingly predictable and we have absolutely no leadership on the pitch. They should hang their heads in shame today. It’s football, we can and will get beat, but turning out performances like that when they’re supposed to be at the top of the game is unacceptable.

The players are not doing the simple things well. To quote Mr Delph, “it’s the basics of football”.

With that, Pep’s stubbornness and insistence to play one way only is killing us. We look clueless at the back, we look clueless in attack. How many times to we have grass in front of us and rather than drive into it we stop, turn backwards or inside and let our opponents reorganise. Why do we keep buying wingers and make them hold the ball out wide until the fullback arrives and then play backwards and into the middle?

Our recruitment over the past few windows has been absolutely awful.

Time to change things up, Pep.
I'd agree but who does he bring in to a team low in confidence?

Mistake by Gvardiol gives the first goal away undoing the early decent work and then we crumble.

Not sure how Pep fixes this but pretty confident he will. Interesting times ahead.

It isnt going to get any better soon.

Paying the price for not addressing the drastic squad needs last summer. Tired of saying the same thing but it's true.

Liverpool away next. That one might be really ugly. Pep's entire system relies on a holding midfielder that sits and protects the back 4.

We havent got one at all and the results are clear.

We have ample opportunity to recruit a capable deputy in the past 3 windows - and we did nothing

0-4 is a bigger defeat!
Lost by 4
First Champions to lose 5 in a row for 70 years

We're going to break every record in the books

I'm getting vibes from 2016; Pellegrini's final season, that defeat reminded me of that 3-1 home loss to Leicester, when Mahrez and Vardy cut through us at will. Just too easy to play against. If you gave me top 4 and the FA Cup right now, I would snatch your hand off.
