Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

First things first.

The culprits for all the trouble we're facing are the senile old man Tixi and Pep Guardiola himself, to the extent that he has had an influence. All the chaos began after winning the treble, with a disastrous transfer window (only one player brought in) and the contract extension for Walker, which is even worse. If we had any sense and luck, Walker would have been Bayern’s problem by now, not ours. Forget all his current shortcomings as a player—he’s a rarely unintelligent person, and that’s an even bigger problem than him losing his speed.

After the first two culprits, injuries come into play, which we can’t control, but we’re still back to those two because we have no backups.

The problems are so challenging that even if the club were ultra-active in the next two transfer windows (winter and summer), we still wouldn’t have a clear squad situation:

  • Walker – Old, slow, the biggest defensive liability, opponents target him and exploit it to the maximum against us.
  • Stones – Injury-prone, a player you simply can’t rely on.
  • Gundogan – It’s pure luck that he has just one more year on his contract, and hopefully, he won’t be an issue next season. He’s old, slow, and a shadow of the player he used to be.
  • Lewis – Probably the most overrated talent ever, and Pep has had many like him throughout his career: think of players like Rode, Gaudinho, Højbjerg, Krkić, Tello, Rafinha, Cuenca, etc. I actually think some of these players have had a more successful career than Lewis will ever have. Sorry, kid, but the maximum role he can realistically play is the one that Sergio Gomez had.
  • Bernardo – He’s a dead player now. Many have already said everything that needs to be said about him here. He’s been unusable for 18 months, even though he’s not exactly old yet. The 30,000 minutes he’s played under Pep have taken their toll. He’s lost his speed, his sprint, his dribbling. He passes the ball backwards, has no crossing ability, his pressing is useless, and he loses the ball more than ever.

You're a wankpuppet.

Pep has earned the right for us to trust him, even though you may disagree with what he does right now he has earned the right to make his own decision his own way.

You don't decide what anyone should think about anyone. If he make crap decisions (like letting Gundo play) he deserve criticism.

Stick to Boca Juniors and leave comments and judgements to City fans.

Pep makes the calls at city and fan boys who wear club scarves like pearl necklaces wont get a look in here.

It's not a matter of Pep or any other manager "earning" anything. He's the boss and as such he can make whatever decisions he sees fit. At the same time when he does things that someone does not agree with he is absolutely subject to criticism. This isn't brain surgery, it's sport and in sport no one who is paid to produce is above criticism no matter what your resume.

If you bother to read what I wrote I wrote he has earned the right to be trusted. If you don't think that then that's on you because most City fans would agree with me.

Some whinging fickle fuckers on here :)

He's definitely earned the right to fans respect and to our support.

If we turn into United eventually then we can criticise.

City have made some bad decisions recently in transfers and lack of them.

Too true, there are a few fair-weather fans who just want and expect the good times, being in 2nd place the champions league FA cup and the world club cup not enough for them mate.

what a load of bollocks
Yes and no. I too think it won't be as easy as some are saying as far as returning the squad to an elite level. There are zero guarantees we'll be able to replace the likes of KDB, Walker, Stones, Gundogan, etc. with players anywhere near the levels those guys once occupied. No one being 100% objective can argue that for reasons only the club know we throttled way back on squad building after winning the treble. But we are in some deep shit, make no mistake. Can we get it "fixed"? Of course, but it won't be easy. We were in a position to maintain a strong upper hand on our rivals but for whatever reason chose to stand still thus regressing...

What the fuck is this shit?

Calling Pep and Txiki senile old men. Calling Lewis the most over-rated talent ever. Then saying Bernardo is a dead player.

These new fans are the worst.
Fans? One guy has called them that...no need for gaslighting...

How does being trusted mean one is above being questioned, especially in sport. God gave us all brains and eyes for a reason. Personally I don't think opting not to be a brainless bot makes one a whinging fickle fucker...

I didn't say fans can't question his methods what I said is that we should trust him, too many whiney fuckers creeping out of the woodwork.

It's starting to look a bit half and halfy in here recently.

OK, gotcha...

I love you pep and always will but some deluded comments coming from his presser today Pep Guardiola: “When you lose 0-4, all the comments are you miss this, miss that, miss this... But I don’t have the feeling at 0-1 we reacted really bad, or at 0-3. We had our best moments until we conceded for 0-4. The team was good...". Was he watching a different game ?

Did you watch the opening 15 minutes? We should have been a couple of goals up.
