Feyenoord (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Don't be sorry pal. It shouldn't, you're right but it did. I don't know how long you've been a blue but my point is I've seen us drawing games from winning positions and losing games regularly(sometimes heavily) for many years when we didn't have a world class manager and we weren't a well run club. Quite the contrary for many many years.

We're in a slump and descending from the summit of Mount Everest, but we're one of the few clubs in world football to have climed Everest so our recent highs far outweigh or current low.
I've been a blue since 88 been at Maine Road with my Dad and Grandad during our period. I agree a lot with what you are saying (am not having a go at you) and yes we are in a slump at the moment but that was an moment to stop the rot tonight. Get a good result and stop the talk from everyone pundits and rival fans a like. Again mate am not having a go at you am just really annoyed being 3-0 up and we gave the game away imo

It is easy to forget that the treble winning season was pretty much a write off at this point.
We never had a 5 match losing run with two absolute hammerings followed by a complete and utter capitulation though. It's not going to get better any time soon either.

Im marching from Lime Street , 130ish Sunday with fireworks in a Feyenoord stylee. Im optimistic of being arrested, hospitalised, sectioned (ideally all 3 ) well before kick off.

And on the subject of the subs, it was not the time to be putting Macatee and Simpson Pusey on the pitch, when we’ve got such fragile confidence. Certainly not when we’ve got Walker, Dias and Savinho available.

Get the game won.

That said, I’m also staggered that once we conceded Pep didn’t get Dias or Walker in the pitch to batten down the hatches.
If KDB is taking quick free kicks at 3-2 with two minutes left, it’s not making much difference.
City of the last 4 seasons didn’t come anywhere near drawing that game. They’re not looking for 4-1, they’re just playing the game out.
You’d think the Madrid game would be emblazoned across them but no.
Not one player got ‘cramp’, not one player fouled anybody, no breaking up play. Remember Kev at the corner flag v Villa in the 3-2 game, or against the rags? No way are we conceding again in those games.
I think we’ve just gone a bit soft. Also, 2 of the 3 players likely to engage in some shithousery were taken off after 3-0.
Shame Eddie didn’t go off because Ortega is never letting that second one past him!!
Anyway, onwards and upwards with a rot stopping victory on Sunday……

Good post
I am totally at a loss as to why we don’t make any tackles. We have forgotten how to put our foot in. Rodri is a big miss in this respect.
We’ve always had enforcers in the middle and desperately need one in the January window. Dinho where art thou…
A 30 year old Fernandinho is exactly what we need. Someone with balls. An organiser, a leader and he could play a bit too

Biggest thing that’s stood out for me last few weeks.

We look not just not “match fit” but just generally not fit.

It’s like me if I miss 6 a side for a couple of weeks I’m absolutely nowhere near it for the first 2 games back. That’s how most of them look at the minute.
It’s a snow ball effect-they have little time to rest/recover/train and with a small squad it’s compounding everything. It’s awful to see tbh. Not sure how they stop the rot either.

From someone who knows it is a very worrying picture . As some say Pep needs a break after performing miracles for the past few years .
Yes I'm beginning to think extending could of been a mistake, we were all praising kompany for leaving on a high and there were quite a few on here recently saying gundogan should not of returned and left on the high that he left on. The same could be said about managers also. I have faith he will turn this around but it will be his biggest challenge as a manager yet.

I don't know why posters are getting out their prams, it isn't exactly a shock is it?
We are what we are at the minute and that is woeful. This team has run it's course, it isn't rocket science. They've give us the treble and four in a row and after years of running themselves into the ground for us we need to give them some slack.

There was always going to be a tail off and a dip, it's happening, it's real, we just have to suck it up and crack on, no use pointing the finger or putting the blame on individuals, as a team they've all had that drop off

Get used to the fact we aren't winning anything this season, that isn't being defeatist, that is being honest with the situation.

Top 4, maybe an fa cup run and it's a decent season. Forget champions league this season, we are nowhere near good enough.

We all need to accept what is going on, simple really.

Sensible in a sea of nonsense.

That tennis has done you good mate ;)

Messing about with the 2 centre backs and the anchor man left a hole. Bad game management.

I'm suspecting Pep thought it was in the bag, hence those subs. To be fair I don't think anyone thought there was going to be a Benny Hill show for the last 15 mins at the back. But I agree, we didn't react when they scored.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to Amazon Prime: "The game was fine at 3-0, playing good, but then we concede a lot goals because we were not stable. We gave them the first and then the other one, that is why it was difficult.

"We lost a lot of games lately, we are fragile and of course we needed a victory, the game was good for the confidence. We were playing a good level but the first time something happened we had problems.

"I don't know if it is mental. The first goal cannot happen and the second as well. After that we forget what happen, we were desperate to win and do well, we do well but don't win games.

"The situation is what it is. We played a good game but at that level we can't give them away.

"Right now I am not ready to think about that [need to win final three games to finish top eight]. We have to recover and prepare for the next game. If we are not able to win games like we did today it is difficult to do it."

All this Pep stuff about “played a good game”, said the same after Sporting & Spurs & BHA…it’s not correct, we play well for spells in the game then concede goals in quick succession…the games last 90+ minutes & we play well for about 30 minutes…then have a clusterfuck 5/10 minutes where we are tactically inept & go to pot.

I haven't seen a City team collapse so spectacularly since the 3-3 at home to Bournemouth when we were 3-0 up at halftime. Congas on the Kippax, party time then we fell to pieces.
I went to that, fuck the result.

Altogether now - " Let's all do the conga, let's all do the conga na na na na, na na na na".

"City City City!"
