Feyenoord (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Worried about pep, his poor head!

An interesting few weeks ahead of us. Surely we have to bounce back eventually? Unless our plan is to go down before the results of the case? Haha

Either way. CTID!
It's starting to look like the final days of a regime. Unless things change fast I don't see Pep being around much longer.

Luckily we have a board and manager who will be calm in this situation and give it time.

Who is leading this team? They've won the lot, how are they so vulnerable all of a sudden. Need Dias back big time. He would give the whole team a kick up the arse after that first goal and make sure we didn't concede again.

Up until we conceded we played well. As we did in recent previous games we lost. There’s definitely something wrong mentally. Weird with so much experience in the squad.

Was great to they scored ! We are mentally fragile with no holding midfield once Gundo went off no control! Gvardiol needed a rest a game or 2 a go because he is making silly mistakes he hasn't done before!

The club though because we got Pep have been pretty arrogant blinded by his ability his world class coaching that they took there eye of what is so so obvious! These same players have played so many many games at a high level over the last 4/5 years they should of been aware that when players have played so much over a long period of time more likely they will be that fatigued injuries are likely! So what they did was buy one player bring Gundo in was fucking disgrace! We supposed to be this really well run club with experts on everything football wise, how they didn't foresee this is purely down to arrogance!

It's going to get worse in the next 4/5 games just because we do not have the players to play how pep wants because we know pep will never park the bus his teams defend from the front not the back!

Have we fuck.
The team has come to the end of it's cycle, it's really not that hard to fathom.
The slagging off and the vitriol some posters show towards the team after the joy they've give us these past years is laughable.
So you think Doku savio nunes kovacic have been buys that sustained our level? That they have adequately replaced mahrez Alvarez palmer Laporte from our treble winning squad? Or have arrived able to replace aging squad members? Your deluded if so.

Was it Grealish took a stupid quick free kick at 3-1 ? Trying to get the 4th, where we gave possession away immediately ? He's not a kid, and with his experoience should know how to keep the ball in those circumstances. Bernardo, again worked very hard (when does he not ?) but he's in awful form right now.

The last 15 minutes were an absolute joke, an excercise in how not to control a football match, very out of City's normal way, at 3-0, or even 3-1, we would 99% win until recently, we currently look a shambles if we concede a goal.

There was more than enough experience out there tonight, for that not to happen, and it was a shambles.

Lets also face it, they are a pretty poor team, and would struggle to stay in the PL, so how did we manage to throw that away ?

He was also weird against Spurs. His inexplicable long square ball (a brilliant pass to Werner) helped Spurs score the 4th goal.

Palmer in our shirt was poor, average on a good day, stop this crap!!
But he wasn’t crap mate. He was better than mcatee currently taking up a squad place. To deny that is just nonsense. Palmer got a decent number of minutes and a few goals. To say he was crap in a city shirt is wrong. Has he gone up a level obviously he has but he was never crap. You could see he had quality.

People really struggle to accept it's normal to have a bad season after winning 6 in 7 titles and two Trebles, the domestic one and the CL involving one.

It's normal to have many injuries, fatigue and bad luck after a period of utter dominance. It's like we have a lot of bad luck concentrated in a single season, which is a good thing, as otherwise we wouldn't have won so many trophies. Imagine bad injuries to Rodri or Haaland or Dias in the previous two seasons....

It is what it is. If we don't regain form this season, which I doubt, we'll be back to our normal selves next season. Then we'll have Rodri and several new players, and we'll go again.

All down to pep wanting a small squad! Pep thought we have Bob and we have that kid coming in January who plays plus palmer needs to play! Bottom line is the club pep knows how good palmer is he was under contract for another 3/4 years so what if he might be benched for most of the season! Pep way of managing our club managing the players has worked but when you have an injury crises like we have you can always look back and start the blame game!

I'm blaming the club for not foreseeing a team that has won it all getting older and one injury away from having an average season to an injury crises!

His last season he was given chances but was hugely underwhelming.

He would now walk into this team but his progress at Chelsea is off the scale, I am sure everyone involved was surprised how it's turned out including Palmer.

We have far more issues than worrying about losing and making a mistake on one young player.

People need to stop going on about O’Reilly. He’s about 13 months old and has looked it in the few times he’s featured.

He’s not the answer and we are not going to see him.
So put on an attack minded 15 month old midfielder instead?

Biggest problem is in previous squads an injury, and we’ve had them, and we had a player of the same quality or near as damn it, to step in and the team coped/maintained. We don’t have that now. That is a recruitment issue not a squad size issue surely.

Phoenix arose from the ashes. City always come back. We will prevail. We are still Manchester City the best team in the land and all the world.
We are just having a little rest to give the others a false hope. :-) ;-)

Yeah not end of the world to have a down season! I feel with 10 games to go we could be sat 3/6 points from top four then just get champs league! Remember Liverpool with there injury the other season finished outside champs league!
