When in doubt just clear the ball Josko. It's OK to do that 2 or even 3 times in a game if necessary.

i was banned gabriel, i have a “fan” in high places. :D

i am also, like city, in crisis, and have managed to get cancer, so now it’ll be am i banned, am i dead, have i lost my faith in joško? suspense! :D

well he needs to be benched, rested, whatever you wanna call it, immediately. i’ve never seen anything like it.

could it be physical/mental fatigue? don’t know. he’s in top 3 for minutes played for city and all the minutes possible for croatia this season.

posters who only ever comment on him to shit on him have an early christmas now, they know who they are. :D

i don’t even feel like repeating the usual stuff, he’s a cb, he will never have walker’s pace, people again want to punch him in the face. he was apparently to blame for all 5 goals conceded to spurs, yes five.

something’s not right since he came back from the international break, he’s actually playing well and then makes a goal leading error. i don’t wanna see him in the starting xi on sunday, but what will pep do?

also, there’s still time to start a petition to sell him, i’m actually serious, standing by the beds and plane tracking in reverse, season saved. see gabriel, i’m a problem solver!

gvardiol is being roasted here lol. also, not exactly fan favorite, people seem to want to punch him in the face and call him every name under the sun regularly.

watched the messi clip eh? missed that he was the player of the match and a goal scorer in a game for the bronze medal? by far the best croatian player and the best world cup defender.

no need to rewrite history for his national team because he made mistakes now.

yet you’re doing olympics level mental gymnastics when it’s about players you love playing badly.

i didn’t come here to write he didn’t make mistakes, i believe he must be benched on sunday.

He has to show it on a consistent basis, Although you cannot fault him being an attacking threat it is the defending he has to get it 100% for the full 90 minutes. Something I don't think he is not brilliant at. He is not alone but even at his age, he does have 200 games under his belt and has cost us £77m. If he does have a MotM vs Liverpool or scores the winner then fair enough come back at me. But I have my doubts he could contain Salah.

On his day he can be a decent player but we're now seeing his limitations with sloppy and complacent passing.
 
His mistake in the FA Cup final put me on notice that he is prone to major gaffs. His confidence will be shot following recent performances. Sad stuff.
 
Don’t forget he’s young. A blip like this was bound to happen. He’s not a leader yet and the team capitulating around him every game will make him nervy and lead to mistakes.

Still rather have him here than not. Unicorn of a footballer.

But I do think he needs a break. Especially with Salah next.
 
Concentration went out the window in the 2nd half.

He's still young though. Poor night definitely, but he is a good player. The squad overall just isn't in a very good state right now.
 
Just needs to be benched for a few weeks - regardless of his previous performances. There's no room for a player who has made 5 individual errors leading to goals in recent games. It's just damaging his confidence and those around him.

He looks broken with each new error which is really hard to watch.

From being one of our better players in the earlier part of the season, his recent mistakes have been critical to the results and he must feel as though the weight of the world is upon him.

Right now it looks as though he needs to be taken out of the firing line for his own sake.
 
I don't understand how he is getting blamed for the second goal - he is marking the person he is supposed to mark as the left-sided CB of a three. The ball loops over both their heads - no centre back is going to get to that, and as it drops he is blocked from getting to the ball by the attacker he is with. The problem comes with the extra man creating the overload - Nunes has failed to track him - Ederson lets the ball go between himself and the post and no one has fallen back to the line to anticipate those things might happen.

The real worry is that he is part of a defensive unit that so quickly falls apart and he - along with others does not see to be capable of putting a mistake behind him and being resilient. But overall he is a good player who needs to learn from what is happening at the moment. And he needs to learn quickly - because we can not rest him - the options are too limited.
