How many points to win the league?

The worst part is that I don't even think this Liverpool team is anything special. They're good, no doubt but not looking formidable.

We had an awful spell after leading the league. Arsenal weren't as consistent as early in the past couple of seasons.

The dippers will drop their fair share of points. It might not be us that catches them this year but I don't reckon they'll have a clear run to the title, despite a decent lead right now.

If we hit our best form we can haul them back in and win the league. I just don’t think we can do that big a 180 with zero room for error.

It’s Slot’s first winter in England though, if they have a tricky December Arsenal will be on their coattails and in a 3 way race more points tend to get dropped.

They were nothing special today. 3 goals out of nothing against us tonight, all of them down to a lapse in concentration from our defence.
We should have been 2-0 up in the first half. VVD also should have been sent off.
We should have had a penalty in the 2nd half, and the referee blew when we were in on goal in either 2 on 1, or 3 on 1 situation.
A stronger referee and they would have been beaten tonight.
A team better at finishing and they would have been beaten tonight.
A team who are little bit better at defending, and they would have been beaten tonight.

Take Salah out of that team, like we have lost Rodri and they are 3rd - Easy!

Sounds like an average Liverpool game
 
If we were anywhere near the level we have been over the last 4 seasons especially we would walk away with a 5th league title...
We wont win the league because the other teams are so good....we wont win the league as we are just average in comparrison to where we have been previous seasons.

Unless we get a couple of players in January and they are top class and absolutely hit the ground running we wont stand a chance of the league - 3 pts vs forest is papering over huge cracks.

For Pep to win it from here would be his greatest achievement ever coupled with a collapse of huge proportions fromt he likes of Arsenal and the Scousers. Pep would need to get a level of performance out of this team consistently that at present we are nowhere near.

I think we have to win our next three against Palace, United and Villa to get to that stage.
 
Long way to go, nothing ever won at the start of December. Write us off at your peril. Up the mighty blues.

I said we wouldn’t win the league this season because our midfield isn’t good enough, but Grealish felt like a brand new signing in midfield tonight. Get Bobb fit, De Bruyne fit, Foden well again and someone like Zubamendi in January and you never know.

It’s all a big ‘if’ though. ‘If’they stay fit, ‘if’ they can get well, ‘if’ we make the signing.

Even then, none of the buggers in defence can stay fit. It feels like they get injured getting out of bed our lads at the back.
