Just home.
Great to get that positive feeling back.
Grealish looked a different player in that central role
Doku unplayable
KDB joined the play up so so well.
Ake so important but another injury is a blow.

24 games to go. 9 off top. Lets just see what we can do.

It should have been six. How many teams would have scored Gundog's header 'n Gvardiol's miss? And their keeper had a couple of fingertip saves but though I wouldn't say we played well we were better! Good thumping goals from Kev n Jezzer! I can't see a single game this season where we field our strongest teeam.

Oh, and it just raised my spirit in the second half that Dogshite Oliver had a chance to refresh his understanding of what the LotG deem a foul. Every fuckin' nudge on a red shirt brought a free whilst we could be clattered and he'd play on. Jack even went to him to show that his leg was near hanging off after one tackle.
Though it was Gvardiol who missed the header, shocking miss though.

Much better today especially at the back and Grealish was excellent. He drove well through midfield and covered back really well, a very encouraging performance. Still some frailty in midfield, excellent as Gundogan is on the ball he’s not quite able for the physicality of playing DM. Doku was great and did some smart things without having to beat his man every time. Haaland was a little starved.

Great to see Dias back in form but the loss of Ake and Akanji takes a little gloss of the win. We know we need a DM in January, we may need another centre back as well.

Was a funny game in some ways, we could have been 3-0 up before Wood should have equalised and then KDB scores. Elanga and Gibbs White were difficult to deal with so it was great to get a clean sheet.

Overall a huge improvement and good confidence boost though the injuries are a concern.

Thought it was bad initially but when he walked off I thought it seemed okay.

The pusey just isn't ready. He's not warmed up yet.
Josko Guardial may have to play CB with Rico at LB.

I don’t think we will win the CL either without a couple of signings. We really need at least 2 players to come in, maybe 3 Ake/Stones are just too injury prone, Walker is looking ropey and we need a holding mid.

Whether we can get the right quality in Jan remains to be seen.
.....and they then need to settle in quickly .

much better but not convincing at all...

lots of mistakes, and shakey defensively at times.

Grealish adds control in the middle but doesnt have a clue what to do with it once he gets near the edge of the opponents box
Gundo was our worst player - giving the ball away numerous times.

Doku was our main danger man going forward and as always Bernardo worked so hard - needs a rest.

KDB - still think he is struggling - if given time and space he can hurt anyt team - but when pressed he is very close to giving possession away and did do at times.

Palace away will tell us a lot more about where we are as a team with some of these players coming back
...but Akanji & Ake now injured !!

To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of Manchester City’s demise are greatly exaggerated.

Considering the recent run of results and the fact that Forest were just behind us in the table, I thought we were very good.

We attacked from the start, and more or less controlled the game. The early goal was important. It was a bit scruffy, but who gives a fuck? Kdb’s and Doku's were excellent strikes.

I’m not going to proclaim that we’re back to our best, but the signs were very encouraging.

Yep. Much better - but you can tell the players are still frail from the injuries that they are having to play with. No other team could have done what we’ve done with so many injuries to first team players. Akanje & Ake clearly needed more recovery time but we had no cover with Stones being injured.

A good start on our road to recovery

So that's what a clean sheet is.

Good to get back to winning ways.
Clean sheet, three points, KDB's back, and just 24 pages of discussion.

Pep Out!

PS. I think Gvardiol's and Walker's defending still make me nervous.

UTFB!

Dippers will be very quietly worried. They may not say it out loud, but they’ve seen City claw back gaps like this in much shorter time

In one month there will hopefully be reinforcements - you never know…

“Can’t see Liverpool dropping points. Doku has no end product. Kev’s legs have gone. Pep doesn’t trust Jack to play him inside.”

Have I missed any of the classics?

Well done you beautiful blue boys! We showed up as a team.

Hoping that’s the beginning of our twenty game (at least) unbeaten run.
Nah, Pep's a Bluemoon avid reader and he's learning from our sapient lot.
;)
