How many points to win the league?

Forget Arsenal and Chelsea, they're not the real deal and won't go the distance. The question is whether we can pull back nine points over the Dippers in 24 games.

Beat them at our place and it's six points. I'd say there's a slim chance of us doing that. Draw or lose and then no chance IMHO.
 
We have also got the experience of winning trophies by going right to the wire, all the other clubs haven’t got that and will bottle it.
 
Lots of twists and turns left in this, because no team is a real stand out. If we can claw ourselves back within striking distance we’ll get the 5th!

How can you say they're not the real deal ? Especially after their emphatic wins. We rallied tonight, great performance from the lads and nice to see us back but it's unlikely we can keep this going the rest of the season.The squads too thin, another two injuries again tonight with Ake's sounding like a bad one and we all know Kev won't be going the rest of the season without some kind've an injury. Finishing 3rd or 4th would be a great achievement considering everything.

We had an awful spell after leading the league. Arsenal weren't as consistent as early in the past couple of seasons.

The dippers will drop their fair share of points. It might not be us that catches them this year but I don't reckon they'll have a clear run to the title, despite a decent lead right now.

Without Salah I think they’re just a good top 4 team. Take Van Dijk, Trent and Allison out? That’s a rebuild as big as ours, but with owners less likely to spend. Plus we don’t really know what kind of players Slot will be asking for.
 
If it’s between arse and pool then I’m scousers all the way never thought id say that in a million years but something very arrogant about arsenal and the way they play the game

you definitely should have had a couple in the 1st half, but Liverpool hit the post too.

If we can’t win it then I’m off to buy an Arsenal shirt and brush up on my bluds and fams.

Literally anyone but the murdering scouse vermin (and the rags obviously but they’re an irrelevance)
 
Wouldn't get excited about this unless we were only 5 pts off the top. But IF we beat Palace and Liverpool lose at Everton, it will get interesting, and sooner than expected.

After Gordon should have made it 2-0, he had just got up, ball was out with Liverpool on the counter, VVD comes in leading with his arm, near Gordon’s head, totally off the ball, no need for it. Gordon goes down, and rightly so, Liverpool complain that he’s diving.
 
This is the counter we had at the end, and this is where the ball was when the referee blew for full time.
For what it’s worth, play was stopped for at least 1 minute in injury time, so the time should have been added as well.

huh, i didnt spot that. Did they not even VAR it? ive seen a replay and it looks suspect at the very least
 
If we sign a high quality DM in January we probably have a small chance, but we won't get more points than the dippers with the current playing squad.
