After Trigger passed away this summer we were going to hold off for a while. Then….see this couple are having to move and can’t take cats with them as new owner is super allergic to cats. It was a little early tbh but hated these two cats having to be re housed and probably separated as they’d been together for 8 years. It’s been a big adjustment as they’ve got completely different characteristics from the good old boy….anyhoo this is Thor and Tux.

i am still annoyed that a sanctuary down the coast wouldnt let me have a maine coon rescue , she was a bit highly strung and had been rehomed once and taken back , they came to see me , i have everything they asked for and have had cats for thirty odd years . They wanted a garden and i have a cats paradise out back . She said do other cats come in the garden and i said the odd one passes through now and again . She said we cant let you have her for that reason

I felt like they were putting imaginary barriers in because they wanted to keep her long term . I still look on their website from time to time and seven years on she is still there. Sanctuary life is no life and the irony is she is mixing with many other cats up there !

Our two go out all the time and are always playing with other cats. That sanctuary should be ashamed of itself, they are very sociable breed and something must have happened to her in her early life to make her like that, but I’m sure she could have been sorted

i have all the time in the world to nuture a cat like that, i have had all kinds of cats , silva was really shy for a few months but i encouraged her and once she started talking and cuddling she never stopped ! They have really done the wrong thing keeping an intelligent and as you say sociable cat , they dont have the time to spend with a cat like that. I used to volunteer at the cat house at a sanctuary i got silva and now merlin from and they are busy places

Oh well , she has stuck in my mind all this time
