It was his clause rather than anything else and they didn't have to sell post-June, having sold Minteh and that lad to Forest. Bit of a different situation now. £66m still seems light to me

Yea, i wouldn't go near guimaraes for 100 million (which is what i thought/expect it will take) but if we could get him for 60 odd million in jan I'd snap their hand off, all things considered

I don’t get this myself, a player is either good enough for us or he isn’t. His price doesn’t change his ability. For me the question is do we think he is a player that makes us better than anyone else available ,if yes can we afford him ,if yes then get him . The number whether 60/70 80, makes no difference to my opinion.

Wide player to replace Grealish - doesnt add enough going forward either in creativity or goals - if we are thinking of playing him central then we need better.

Based on the 5 minute youtube highlights I watched, he looks decent. Big lad, decent passing range, likes getting stuck in and takes set pieces.

Could be, but think get a good CM in January, get some fitness and form into the squad and the team that went the first 7 games unbeaten we will see second half of the season out comfortably top 4, and maybe even with a trophy.

PSR situation is bad plus they probably know getting Champions League is unrealistic this season

Guimaraes for £66m is a deal we should try to conclude at 00.01 on 1st January 2026. A fee that is significantly less than we all expected for a physical player who is desperate to join us. It sort of feels too good to be true when the summer issue was a £100m release clause.
