Maybe my mind is getting worse but I can't recall a decent corner taker since Hinchcliff.
Every time I watch motd I see teams scoring from corners due to having excellent corner takers. CTID

We’re the joint second best in the PL despite playing mostly hobbits.

We do okay.

Hahaha big true, and our 2 best headers Stones and Ake are made of glass so investing in corner kick is meaningless right now.

Early 80’s we scored so many goals from corners.
Paul Power I think took them to the near post where Kevin Reeves would flick it on to an incoming Dennis Tueart or Kevin Bond.

At the moment is does not matter, since we are crap at heading, no determination no dominance, which is why Ake and walker are our best headers of the ball.

Foden regularly takes a good corner, e.g. the one for the Stones winner at Wolves this season

It never ceases to amaze me how bad professional footballers are at taking corners, even the best ones like KDB often take terrible ones.

I know he turned out to be a right tosser but Andy Chincliffe could certainly take a good corner, I seem to remember him scoring direct from a corner a couple of times at Maine Road?

Stones has 2, Kovacic scored vs Fulham, Gundogan vs Feyenoord. There’s probably more.

We’ve scored 15 since the start of last season.

Him and David White took them from opposite sides, curling in wingers to the far post. Hinchcliffe definitely scored one direct from a corner against Shrewsbury in 88/89. Think White did the same away at Sunderland later in the season.
We do score a few from corners now but the percentage scored against the number taken must be fairly low.

Tricky Ricky Holden took a good one but you had to wait for 5 minutes whilst he raced to the corner flag.

The Bobby McDonald back header from the near post was the most prolific cause of mayhem from corners that I can remember. Surprised that it never seeems to be tried these days.

We are consistently dross at corners and throw ins. Annoys me so much every time yet another is wasted.
