Too many games. If they did this new format but reduced the number of games to the original format then I’d be happy with that.
I'm focused on 40 points at this stageEuropa League & Conference have the same format.
Not sure how the format in this stage makes it any different to watch compared to the group stages of the previous format?I think it’s a dreadful format. It's a CL night and I'm not watching it, probably for the first time ever when I've not made other plans. No real jeopardy. TV can spin it all they like, but Real Madrid will make the top 24.
The old format was fine. The problem wasn't the format but seeding the draw so heavily so as to make it virtually rigged.

In the previous format, you might have had a group that was very competitive - Newcastle last year, for example. This format gives a team loads of scope to lose matches. In the end, the final game day might end up with teams contriving a result on the Wednesday because they know what's needed after the Tuesday. The real jeopardy would be if it was just the top 16 through and 20 out. No second chances. Not sure how the format in this stage makes it any different to watch compared to the group stages of the previous format?
All of the games on the final game week are on the same day(Weds 29th Jan) and kick off at 20:00In the previous format, you might have had a group that was very competitive - Newcastle last year, for example. I'm not sure it is jeopardy. It's 8 games to eliminate just 12 out of 36 teams. Sure, there's the extra playoff round but that's a different phase of the competition. It doesn't feel like jeopardy to me if you aren't eliminated after the 8 group games.I like the new format, more jeopardy in the earlier rounds :0)
Not 2 games against the same poor team or just win your home games and you are through??
More new places to visit and travel to Bratislava :0)
If you are any good?? You should make the playoffs, our problem is that this season we aren’t very good and may struggle to make the playoffs :0(
I didn't know that. In fairness, that does make it a bit more dramatic. But the lead-up to that seems like going through the motions. All of the games on the final game week are on the same day(Weds 29th Jan) and kick off at 20:00
Definitely. I can't work it out to be honest.I didn't know that. In fairness, that does make it a bit more dramatic. But the lead-up to that seems like going through the motions.

It’s more about money for the boardrooms and shareholders of clubs. It’s the club boardrooms who pushed for this expansion, it’s the clubs’ faults. All about money for Uefa.
Doesn’t really matter whether you finish 1st or 24th.Going through the motions?
I thought we were nailed on to finish top 3 and here we are fighting to make the top 24.
ATM it’s not about form, It’s about injuries. More games means more injuries. It would definitely be costly for us to play an extra round of games.Doesn’t really matter whether you finish 1st or 24th.
Might actually be better for City to finish 9th-24th since a lot of our players have missed a lot of football this season and the team has been out of form - an extra round of games will be good for getting those who’ve been out back to full fitness and might allow the team to play back into form.
I like it, less repetative than the group stages and not the usual 12 clubs guarenteed to qualify with 4 suprise ones.I think it’s a dreadful format. I've just posted my rant feelings about exactly this!!Going through the motions?
