I said this recently in the “city in crisis” thread and hoped it wasn’t just me. Pleased to see it isn’t!

Lillo sits there impassively, glued to the seat with a blank expression win, lose or draw. Goodness knows what nuggets of wisdom he’s offering Pep but he certainly isn’t providing inspiration, encouragement or a kick up the arse to the players.

Losing Rodolfo Borrell was clearly a much bigger blow than we realised at the time.

They flapped during the 100 points season. They flapped during the treble season.

Its been a bad two months. That's it. Two months out of a near decade of dominance.

Our players have run themselves into the ground to achieve the unbelievable. Hardly a break between seasons, some are knackered, mentally and physically.

Our transfer dealings and squad management has been below par the last two summers. But I think this has been made to look worse with the key injury to Rodri and players like Stones and Ake not staying fit.

Coupled with KDB and Foden hardly being fit too.

It's a bad two months. But I'm not going to turn on the players and the manager over it.

We are in a big run of poor form and to be fair we weren't playing particularly well today. But at 1-0 we had john stones ready to come on to shut up shop. Then they scored the penalty. Sub was changed to savio and we are rushing to take the kick off. Our confidence is completely shot and I knew probably with a few more people that we could crumble again.
I know it's not our or peps style but at that point stones should have still come on and taken the draw.

Hey Just a visiting fan with a outside view, pep seems a decent human. often speaks common sense about life and football in general apart from obviously being a genius and transforming the sport. But the basics of success remain the same even for the great man.

I believe having watched way to many games over 40 years, both at brighton and today, if your lads had simply just got men in numbers behind the ball in the right moments. you win both games 1-0. Instead over pressing out out of shape at 1-0 led to terrible results in both matches. When your not at your best you have to do basic things differently. Is it not just arrogant not to bed in and try and see a result out. sometimes you have to ugly a game out even as incredible as your side have been over the years.
