That’s a different problem. You need money, without growth you won’t get extra money to pay for owt, and we’d all still be getting paid 2 bob a week, well less actually unless the population also stagnated.

I’d also enforce all trusts to deband retire / returns to top of band 5 - the number who block progress for staff is staggering where their trust allows them to retire on a Friday and return to the same job / band on a Monday.

Thing with it is after 6 - 7 years of kicking cans down the road ( Postmasters, WASPI women, Infected blood scandal and so-on) the Tories were fucked they knew they were going to lose and lose badly they were spending the nations reserves several times over so it was easy to promise the earth in compo knowing you have set no money aside to pay anyone - in fact it was advantageous as each was a hospital pass to in incoming Labour Govt

They have had to make difficult decisions and even though I may not like some of them, they have made them as an incumbent government should.

Personally, I agree with this decision. Don’t see why compensation should be paid when they had years to plan for it. Being ignorant of the rules doesn’t make the rule complicit for your inaction.

They have plenty of money, haven't they just sent 50 million to Syria? That's on top of 11 billion to Africa for some climate claptrap, which will go straight into upgrading the mansions of the dictators in that country, plus our regular top up to Ukraine. We elect these governments to serve the people of this country first and foremost but they seem to delight in making our own citizens suffer while throwing money hand over fist abroad. It's gaslighting of the highest order.

Not sure what purpose Syria is being funded for and, I can see why we would contribute to global warming solutions. As for Ukraine, we should be giving more

I have no problems helping other countries out but only after the people that actually live here are looked after first. Obviously if certain global events are resolved it can have a positive effect on Britain too.
