United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Yeah they VAR’d that one and fortunately it wasn’t given but it was a clumsy challenge.
Personally I thought it was a penalty, Left his leg hanging out and nowhere near the ball, Thankfully it wasn't given...Not that it matters now as another one of our players ran into one of them at 100 miles an hour.

Unfortunately it's where the players heads are right now, He was trying to rectify his mistake by making another mistake. Sums up this season so far.

Too passive
No press
No leadership
Not a pair of bollocks between 'em.

Our season summed up in 1 minute of football.

45 +3

We're WINNING a home derby 1-0
We're penalised in their half

Onana shapes to take the free kick, flapping his arms out to get everyone forward. Our defence is set, usual high line, Dias manically trying to get everyone on point, everyone in the ground know what's coming, it's seconds before half time. He launches it. Everyone one of our players can see the flight of the ball, where it's heading and what needs to be done. Easy to defend, get to half time. We go again. Come on...

Ermm..

Fucking 5ft nothing ratface wins the header, just outside our box, with not a single City player withing 5 fucking yards of him.

Pep wants his WARRIORS eh....so, man the fuck up and play for him then.
Warriors to worriers in the blink of an eye.

Up the fucking Bl.....nah...fuck that.

I swear in the last decade United have been awarded more penalties at the Etihad than us
We'd have a better argument for pens not awarded to us in that time frame. The rag pens at the Etihad recently have been stonewallers, Jesus's foul in the 2nd minute, the irrelevant one in the 6-3 win, and yesterday's horror show.

6-3 one wasnt. Others were though.

The earlier one involving Hojlund definitely wasn't a penalty, but we can't argue with the one that was given, it was just a combination of carelessness, desperation and sheer lunacy from Nunes.

I'm not a Nunez hater, I think there's a decent player in there but boy is he lacking a football brain. It makes you realise just how lucky we were to have David Silva. We still haven't got over losing him. Nobody anywhere near his level. I thought Foden may fill his boots but his decline has been one of the worst I've ever seen.

But his ability is still there, for whatever reasons not at his best, but still capable of getting there.

Thought Nunez was ok overall until being utterly stupid and reckless.

I always look at penalties as in if the shoe was on the other foot, I'd be screaming for a penalty that's just my opinion, I thought Dias was silly to go in the way he did especially not making any contact with the ball.

Obviously that's football and it's all about opinions, Agreed over the Nunes for it was lunacy, Absolutely zero thought went into it and clattered him.

Funny old game, That tackle never happens and we are all a happy bunch today celebrating a win. We go again fella.

I don't think Pep can trust many of the players not to make stupid mistakes. I can't believe we were 1-0 up with five minutes to go and we LOST!!!
We did something similar at St Andrews 13/12/97 Murtaz Shelia put us 1 up very late in the game and they scored two at the death. But that was in the second division (or whatever it was called at the time) so against a better team than the rags yesterday.

Pep was cautioning about player burn out, injuries and health risks 3 years ago.....but collectively the club didnt act inspite of an increasing game schedule !!
Pep also continued with his small squad system even though he knew the players were burned out and had bugger all rest due to summer tournaments and bloody internationals.

One thing that has always pissed me off is Pep was one of the first vociferous managers when it came to number of subs etc PL give him what he wanted then duely never fully used or uses his bench. For at least 3 seasons if not the whole four in a row he could have reduced actual player time for every one but refused to do so.
Seems to only go into protection mode when a player is coming back from injury

At least he admitted he made a mistake
Hope he will actually add more players this transfer window

A rather extraordinary take. You are mixing the accolade earned by the ability/performance of the entire team of players and the staff/the club with that of one individual player.

My point is, his best season was the most successful in the clubs history which has parity with any clubs best season in the history of the game, he also played (albeit to a lesser extent and with less impact) during the rest of this rosey period in the clubs history.

Any player that contributed to that period, especially the treble season can be seen as a good purchase in my book.
