The Labour Government

Just to get some facts out there - the report was published in March - Jeremy **** said the Govt were not going to compensate the WASPI women but Labour have let them down? Even GeeBeeBee's reported on it in March

Says he was confident of raising the money through growth not that he wasn't paying it unless I have missed something in your attachment?

he knew they were going to lose its an example of them promising the earth because he knew it held no consequences

That's the triple lock he's talking about (or possibly the infected blood scandal!). It's not a particularly well written article, but he's definitely not talking about WASPI compensation.

Dons his tin hat...

Maybe women should work 2 yrs longer as they live on average 2 yrs more than men. It would help fix the pension funding problem.
ye seemed to be ok for men to do an extra 5 years for a long time, could never get my head round that, work longer shorter pension life!

Certainly doesn't say they weren't paying it though as quoted in post I replied too.1000039115.jpg

You forgot this little fact.

And the incoming Labour Government said they were going to pay the compensation. Do you deny this ??

And now totally irrelevant... The Tories got what was coming to them at the ballot box.. It's now up to Starmer and his mob to deal with this.. They say they're not paying if I understand the statements coming out of Whitehall correctly

A fucking poor show when they can magic up £50m at the drop of a hat for Syria... Would Syria give us £50m if the shoe was on the other foot... I know the likely answer

My friends on the ground in the party are saying Streeting and Rayner are sounding out leadership bids.

They've given Starmer a year (next June) to 'bring the public round'.

Next summer the bunfight begins.

Yeah, let's not get to grips with our ministerial, well-paid appointments and improve the lot of the electorate, Hell no. let's see if I can get the top job!

House work benefit.

Pay men/women/insert other here £200 a month to stay and home to cook, clean, iron the dominant partners clothes.

Inspectors trained by Anthea Turner do 6 monthly spot checks and take it away if it's not up to standard.

Over time backdated pensions won't be an issue.

Happy homes, happy life and all that.

Jobs a good un.

Firefighters won a compensation claim for “hurt feelings” after winning the battle to get our pensions back, we have now been told these are to be different depending on how much it affects you, anywhere between £1500-£7500. This claim was legally done a few years ago and we are still awaiting payment, if we ever see it. Now the amount of firefighters is quite low compared to the WASPI woman however, this pension battle affects all public sector workers, the government owe around £17 billion in righting the pensions and I can see claims from other unions going in for “hurt feelings” I know police already got paid out. The WASPI women claim would be a drop in the ocean compared to the millions of public sector workers who could potentially claim.

To be honest this seems like an odd way of framing it. What O'Brien seems to be saying is the political parties and the public think all immigration is bad. That is frankly bollocks. Even the most right wing agree that some immigration where they have the skills to make the UK more successful is positive.

It appears to be back to conflating the 3 completely separate groups of Skilled Migrants, Asylum seekers and Unskilled Migrants. Which really isnt helpful for any meaningful debate.

I believe it was Corbyn who said he was going to pay it, i don't think Starmer did (but happy to hold my hands up and be wrong if there's any proof it was in Starmer's labour manifesto).
