The Labour Government

It’s clear they’re sleepwalking into disaster with this Musk / Farage thing.

If Musk funnels a ton of cash at Reform it’s entirely possible Farage at least becomes leader of the opposition.

Doesn’t bear thinking about.
You must joking right, the sooner we can get this pile of @#!£ out of government the better, and if the means a Musk/Farage team up, all the better.

Don't you just love this government, their corruption minister is being investigated for ermm......corruption...4 billion in bribes apparently..

I think they’re beginning to understand that being in opposition is a damn sight easier than being in Government.

And I say this as neither Labour or Tory.

It’s all about personality over policy nowadays and I’ve become totally disillusioned with politics over the last 20 years.

The best PM we never had was John Smith.

What information didn’t Labour have in opposition?
In general the opposition don't find out a fraction of the information from Civil Servants that the party in power does.

Specifically the impossibility of dealing with the WASPI claims at a cost that is proportionate the potential awards indicated by PHSO.

TBH Musk sticking his nose into UK politics scares me. He clearly has very little comprehension of how we as a nation work.

Hence why we need to stick with Labour.

But thick cunts get swayed so easily and genuinely believe Labour want to punish the farmers, the old, the waspi women for a laugh and a giggle.

So yeh, Musk and Farage can rile up the easily manipulated bellends and force labour out.

Me too - irrespective of whether an ombudsman decision made positive or negative statement - this was indeed a result of women wanting parity with men (which is fine) and then all of a sudden a few missed the fact it was actually going to happen (they got what they wanted) and were disadvantaged by not preparing properly - much like brexit, there will be a few losers as well as winners but generally it is/was a positive for the majority of women - so I feel the whole WASPI claim was opportunistic (probably driven by money grabbing lawyers looking for another ill-deserved claim windfall), the vast majority have not lost anything at all - which is the Govts position I believe. Sorry if others believe believe something else, but don't bother to do the "someones wrong on the internet thing and I have to disagree" challenge my view, because there's no point!
How was it a "positive" for women? I'm not sure how many wanted to work beyond 60.

A lot of women of the Waspi generation brought up Children in the late 60's onwards, the NI contribution rules were different then so a lot of the Waspi women have not got the NI 35 years contribution.

A small amount of compensation between 1k and 3k as advised by the Ombudsman wouldn't have helped that much but it would have been a gesture. These are women that now also don't receive the WFP, it's an attack on the working class seniors who don't have significant private pensions. Rayner represents the constituency where I live, it's a very working class area and the anger towards the Labour Government is palpable, she won't show her face when the next local elections are held.

Labour has let down Senior citizens, minimum wage for 40 hours from April is £448, those pensioners who don't receive credit have to live on less than half that, also private pensions were not available to everyone going back 40/50 years, not all companies offered schemes.

To sum it up, Starmer, Reeves, Rayner and Kendall have hypocritically let down the people they should be helping.

You really do post some shite these days, fuck of to the WHU forum.

The ones who receive the least get pension guarantee credit on top of their pension, the ones who don't receive it do so because they have a private pension. They own their own homes or receive Housing Benefit or the UC equivalent, and also get full council tax support if short if on a low income.

After the levelling up fund money AUL has got everything will be fine - that was a joke as TMBC is a shambles in that area, the fish rots from the head down.

The irony of you continually posting shite like this and calling others thick cunts. Just the dimmest bulb.

So, anyone who doesn't agree with this absolutely abysmal, inept, corrupt government and sees Farage as a possible change to the current 2 party system are manipulated bellends, typical left wing nam calling, and you prove, why we need the poison that is the left, out of government and out of our lives.

Agreed.

I am not a Conservative voter but I do think it is important that we have a healthy Tory party for our political system to work.

People need a viable alternative but it’s obvious Badenoch isn’t it.

They need to find their David Cameron, then we as a nation can have a sensible discussion and put these populist charlatans back in their box.

There’s a lot of truth to this.

Yep easy to stand spouting that they will do this n that, angela rayner seems front and centre of all that. But when the reality is somewhat different you can look a bit silly.

I think it needs another party that can wobble the big 2 , and its never gonna be the lib dems.
If its reform for now then so be it. Lab/cons have had an easy ride for WAY too long

Two issues with that though mate.

Firstly should justice be beholden to cost? If they believe they WASPI women were wronged - and the only evidence that exists suggests they (Starmer, Rayner, Kendall etc) did - then they were wronged and deserve compensation.

Secondly due to the cost of investigating every claim a blanket compensation formula/amount was devised for all claimants so it would be fairly light touch to validate if they were eligible.

The first issue is my main point however.

They can’t win. If they had made payments people would be kicking off about Labour spending and wasting public money.
