Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Tough spell but hey that’s football.
Think the problem with some new fans is they started watching city because we were winning trophies.
I my opinion if we started rebuilding this team last season or earlier then there’s no treble or 4 in a row but I wouldn’t swap either achievement .
People need to stop being so entitled and support the team and management that have broken records that will probably never be bettered or just jog on .

A positive note in a ocean of shit was that Foden seemed to finally wake up and understand that he is one of the guys that needs to drag us out of this. Hopefully we will see more of this to come

I see loads of posts saying Pep should do this and Pep should do that.
Injuries, the players are tired etc..
How about the players show some fight, heart and desire.
We aren’t even doing the basics of football right now.
Experienced players on high wages that should be doing more, a lot more than they currently are.

Ah so high wages and effort are the perfect correlation as a cure for the problems.

Never hear that one before !

Pep out!!!

The posters on here saying that everything is shit are the same posters that have always warned that things will go to shit.

It's like Christmas come early for them.
Right I've gone along a bit on your angle but now shut the fuk up. There is zero celebrating about how shit we are atm knowing this was going to happen!

Totally. Toughest people come out at the toughest times.

Another person going on about players who have left who were at the time simply not good enough.

It's fucking boring mate. They have GONE get over it ffs.

Like I said before these things wouldn't be mentioned if we weren't struggling.
Spot on.

Good luck to them all i hope they forge a decent career for themselves but none of them ,not even Palmer, were good enough to get into the City side of last season.

McAtee doesn’t get into the side cos he’s not good enough and can’t be trusted, simple as that.

Some would be more at home at Speakers Corner, plenty of experts there.

I’m trying to think of any positives from today and it’s hard. Grealish was really good first half but Villa changed in the second half and he disappeared second half.

Foden getting a goal hopefully gives him a bit of a boost and he kind of looked better today. Other than that there isn’t much.

Probably one of the reasons Pep doesn’t play the kids.
They’d get crucified by our fans, just like Rico is.
He’s young and inexperienced and he should low down on the finger pointing.
Has he been good recently?
No not really but he’s been no worse than anyone else.
It carries on and he’ll probably end up leaving and then we can start enough thread about how we shouldn’t have sold him.
He dragged us back into the Palace game with a banger , got sent off because he runs and actually gives a shite - meanwhile fucking Beckham wannabe is what’s wrong with this team - he’s our equivalent of Rashford - fucking useless and doesn’t score goals.

Well he has been sussed. Every team knows we play a really high line and if they pump the ball forward into an empty pitch, they’ll out run our walking footballers and score. Been happening over and over again. Pep needs to change it. You cannot keep playing the same way and expect a different outcome.

Stubbornness, arrogance, we don’t know. I guess it’s that unique ability to focus on the long run, not our indomitable ability to fall apart after a bad spell.

And, to be fair, why should we expect to go to Villa and expect a win?

Because we’ve been so good, I’m happy to understand that this season is an absolute downer. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

I have never expected City to win any game even the good times,
It's not losing to Villa that is the problem, it is the lack of willingness to fight and come off the pitch knowing you have given your all,
