Premier League Games 26/27 Dec 2024

Gibbs-White cheated by trying to get Rodri sent off. Rodri was hardly throttling him. A yellow, like Joelinton, would've sufficed for Rodri but by the letter of the law, Rodri was sent off and so for the reason, I wouldn't have been surprised if Joelinton was shown a red today.
They’re totally different scenarios though. One is in play and one is in a fracas. Seems odd to compare the two.

Forest are gonna do Leicester and win the league.

Newcastle's assistant manager, and one of Villa's sports analysts have been sent off during half-time after there was trouble in the tunnel, according to Amazon's coverage.

I don't see what difference that makes. It wasn't an accidental clash between Joelinton and Rogers. Joelinton clearly lashes out after the ball has gone.
I’ll have to watch it again, but can’t find it anywhere as of yet. No Villa fans are suggesting that it was red card worthy.

They’re moaning vehemently about the Duran red card though.

Joelinton gets a yellow for raising his hand towards Morgan Rodgers.

Regardless of whether it should be a red or not with regards to the actual contact, I wouldn't have been surprised if he got a red for that. Reminded me a bit of when Rodri got sent off against Forest last season.
Which bit? Rodri had 2 hands round his neck.

Rodri being sent off for letter of the law raising his arm to a player's head/face, rather than the actual severity/damage of the contact made. Both Rodgers and Gibbs-White made a meal of the situation yet on only one occasion was the opposition player sent off.

Never a red for Joelington, for me.

Duran, 50/50. Ramos and Pepe used to do things like Duran did. It might be accidental or it might be snide.
Duran got away with one against us last week. I can’t remember who our defender was but he did ‘accidentally’ step on him. When I saw it, I thought it looked a bit too close for comfort and lightening does strike twice. Next game, Duran has done it again. ‘Accidentally’ trod on a player.

Same ref isn't it?
