Atmosphere 2024/25

I was fortunate to go yesterday.

Still recovering.

I’m not being horrible, and I don’t want to offend, but it was great seeing no or hardly any Barcelona shirts, tourists, day trippers, half and half scarfs in the City away end at Leicester yesterday, just legacy, bread and butter fans, who had made the away trip.

The club know that kind of away support makes all the difference to the team and to Pep.(see the video of Pep orchestrating his chant after full-time)

I sincerely hope the club takes notice of our away support yesterday (the directors would have been at the match), and for the future big away games, this and in future seasons at United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, the club distributes more away tickets to legacy fans. Please!

I don’t really need to add anything about our fantastic away support yesterday that hasn’t already been said or posted on BM, but I will. :-) Bar a slight lull for 20 minutes while Leicester were on top in the 2nd half, it was pretty much non stop and loud singing, with a large variety of chants, from City fans. My favourite chant being, “your going down with United!”(I laughed)

It was also great to be part of the Poznan again, something that is unique to City fans in the PL and in English football, which is always looked upon with envy by home fans.(I wish our fans would do the Poznan)

Anyway, that’s me off the beer until New Years Eve.
That's a great commitment to laying of the ale for a bit!

Whilst milling around near but not too near the turn styles finishing last of our chips & beer it was so refreshingly lovely to see & hear the bullshit matchday scarves sellers being told ever so eloquently to fucking do one time and time again.

Shows how Manchester City Staduim team right royal mucked up the staduim if Pep saying this.

Someone must be responsible for this

Went yesterday and agree about the comments. We really got behind the team because we sensed they needed us to. Compare that to the woeful Everton fans at the Etihad who hardly uttered a peep. Hats off to us all. Leicester won’t have had a louder away end all season than that.

...also want to add that almost everyone stayed after the whistle to sing and clap...we normally always do away, whatever the result...but not at the scale of yesterday, when only a few went early - unlike the fucking Etihad when half the stadium in the car park on 70 mins.

Agree about that too, we’d normally shoot off but stuck around until after Pep had come over.

Makes a huge difference. Nobody stood next to me with phones out all match. Nobody sat in half and half scarves.

Just hardcore blues who wanted to support their team in the best way possible.
Pity we can't have some kind of ticketing for home games where you have to have been to so many away games to get tickets for certain singing areas

Great support yesterday ....fucking comms on sky after the 2nd went in..."city fans now finding their voice".....I replied ....been loud throughout are you deaf ? you ****

1) More will go in Legends cos the club will be able to sell more of those seats as Corporate.

2) Very little disruption or cost and no compromise of segregation, safety, sight lines or coach park logistics.

3) City fans can't be seen at Leicester or Palace but can make a fucking racket.

4) Faces on tv dont make a noise.

.
“More will go in Legends cos the club will be able to sell more of those seats as Corporate”
Now I am confused. Are you saying that more corporate hospitality in SS2 will make the South Stand louder/more hostile? I’ve been in Legends a couple of times and loud and hostile it certainly wasn’t!

At Leicester. A single tier, a low roof, and 3000 singing City fans altogether made a huge difference to the atmosphere and our away support.

Whilst at the Etihad, there are numerous tiers, a high roof, and 1000’s of singers scattered all over the ground.

The 3000 capacity, safe standing, singing section, at the back of NSL2 might work if it is filled with 3000 singers, along with a single tier, and a roof that will keep the sound in and amplify it.(apparently)

The club can make that happen. Only the club can, along with getting the fans involved. Is there any will and desire at the club to do that?

I’m not talking about Ultras, a megaphone, or a drum. The away end yesterday reminded me of support in Germany, Italy, France, etc. Non stop singing throughout the match.

I think clubs that has a better atmosphere are the one that have ( I don't know what you guys call it in English :) )

Its like a fan band that lead the crowd with songs.flags...etc ( like Maestro of the crowd )
