PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

City have always been adamant that they are guilty of nothing and as such will admit guilt to nothing. UEFA offered City a fine to avoid a hearing, City declined on the same basis.
It's not unusual in business to face someone in court but carry on as normal outside of that. Although in this case if we are found innocent on all counts I expect Masters position will become untenable.
.....along others, and an exposë of the red yank cabal who are front and centre of the attempt to destroy us.

"Once and for all".....City will not relent until we are cleared and the swamp is drained.

The stakes are high, there will be NO equiviation from City !!

You have almost convinced me to read it. Is it just a description of a football related shared services concept (which would be less interesting for me as I have seen so many of those non-football related in my lifetime), or does it address the development into a broader entertainment group (with things like Sony, for example, or Disney or whoever which would be much more interesting)? Could be worth a read if it's the latter because I reckon that's where the value will be.

What the hell, I'll get the book and read it. Hope it's better than the title :)
Not read the book so don’t know how much he goes into the Disney stuff as opposed to just a group of football clubs but I think that’s where the phrase Disney of football clubs came from in some of his and other City Execs interviews came from

1st - City wont accept a single charge that isnt deserved. We've learnt from that in the past. But I am not sure what makes you think it would pay City to accept them? And I am not sure we want to give the PL a way out tbh. ITs all out war.

2 - Its already all out war. There's a massive amount of bad feeling from the PL, which confuses me tbh. The PL seem to have gone out of their way to make this as ugly as possible. Leaks, the amount of charges, statements they have made, etc. Usually the organisation would lay the charges and let things take their course.... This whole process has been poisonous from the start. Makes me feel like we are fighting our rivals, not the organisation given the amount of poison that has come from them.

Our rivals are fighting us ,our owners, our business accumen, CFG & our success.

They hate us and are still trying to destroy us.

The PL/Masters are the instrument of destruction.

I think it's clear, to me at least, that the club has treated this as a hostile investigation and has caused as much "trouble" for the PL as it could. Probably rightly. Imho.
How can anyone think the way the Prem have gone about this is anything but hostile? IMHO, it's been excessive, relentless, and quite indicative of the way one would deal with an enemy. Putting my City bias aside I find it to be distasteful and disingenuous the way the league has decided to deal with one of its marquee members. In a normal business world this makes absolute zero sense being that City are a successful partner in the PL.

I'm not saying we should be above any rules but this seems to go way beyond that. The Prem have basically walked this to the very edge of the cliff, to a point of no return and to what end? The destruction of a member club that has grown into a global brand and played a large role in the league's own popularity. A collapse of ongoing business alliances with the UAE that extend well beyond football. Or the Prem being made to look like incompetent, petty, buffoons acting at the whim of a small core of owners concerned only with their own self-serving interests.

With all due respect to Stefan and the others here trying to make some sense of this I find it to be a circus. An absolute shit show of dubious merit that's brought the league to an absolutely no-win situation. Does anyone really believe that if the Prem are able to cook us it's a "win" for the league? Anyone with an ounce of business acumen knows this would be a self-inflicted, short sighted mortal wound in the long term.

I'm at a point where even if we were to be cleared 100% of all the charges would I want to be playing in a league that has tried to destroy us full stop. It's a monumental disgrace from a league perspective as well as the relentless smear campaign by both the mainstream media, social media "pundits" and oppo supporters choking on their own bitter hate.

As had been said before. “CLEAR AND OBVIOUS “.

But, but, but according to "Carra" bringing in some of the best players ever seen and Pep has added nothing of any real value to football in this country and it would only hurt us if we were expelled not the PL itself. The fact that the PL's most successful commercial period coincides with ours is just a complete coincidence.

The PL seem unaware of City being held in high esteem in other countries. Some of the G14 clubs obviously are not too pleased with our success but the foreign press, for example, do not follow the anti City agenda. CFG were welcomed with open arms when taking over a Brazilian team and the compliments there were about City. Despite long opposition in the US to the Arab connection the proposed development in NY has some support there.
The same is true concerning ‘Associated’ clubs, the prem don’t seem to understand that we compete in a global market and our deals should be compared not just to our own country.

If I’d sat down next to you and explained how I felt about the way we’ve been treated as a club, those words you put down would have been exactly the same as mine.

Excellent post, sums up my feelings too.

I'm sure a whole bunch of Blues feel like us. Sometimes I'm bewildered at how much the hatred for us keeps the Prem from being plastered with scrutiny over this entire shit show. Where is the same level of attention being placed on the Prem's methods? Their motives? Their missteps? I'm just so disgusted as a supporter...
