West Ham (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Tough watch sprinkled with some quality from savinho .

Desperately in need of a whole new midfield . It was laughable at times.

good result, awful first half hour, decent next 45, poor last 15, it's a funny old game
Savio's best game for us by a distance, Ake goes off and we concede (again), Phil and Rico much better than of late, Akanji was still in his slippers and PJ's in the first half, Hopefully Kev is just not even close to 100%, but I fear his best days are behind him.

Disappointed Pep didn't give McAtee time ahead of Gundog, or even give O'Reilly 20 minutes given we were 4 up

Bloody hell im all over the place. Happy with 4-1 after what we’ve come through, but Christ that was a hard watch. Some better moments when we actually looked like we wanted to play the progressive football of the past few seasons, but way too many brain farts all over the pitch. Akanji… why do we try to build from him when he clearly doesn’t have the skill set? So many individual weaknesses all over. Although saying that, 2 or 3 energetic incomings could kick start our season. Flickering embers from Phil, Bernie, Kev. Kova had a decent game, and Erl will score with the service. Sav is going to be a monster
Not sure wether to be happy or still depressed so I’ll have another beer
We are a very hard watch, have been all season. Can't put my finger on what has gone so wrong but we're an absolute shadow of previous seasons. Sporadic moments of good play is interspersed with dreadful passing and sloppy mistakes. This squad needs invigorating this window but as I've already said I think it will be the summer

Could have been a little better.

But.

We're still sore coming out of a run of being fucked from arsehole to breakfast. Wins are wins, which will boost confidence.

COME ON BLUES!
Kudos (or should that be Kudus?) to you just for the phrase '...being fucked from arsehole to breakfast'.

The Boys in Blue didn't give in. They fought to the end. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. You did us proud, you showed 'em, you showed 'em all. The nay sayers will probably berate me and say we didn't play well. I am not sure as I wasn't there or watching and I definitely don't look often at the match day thread.
It is always so negative.
We won.... that is the top and bottom of it. We showed 'em.
Especially the know nowt media clackbox buffoons.
Especially the Specsavers needing, whistle blowers calling themselves officials. The grumbletonian poltroons who once again need reminding that we are MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD!!

Onwards and upwards with the Blue Boys. YYYYeeeessss......... :-)

All I need to make my January completely good is to hear that John Boy is recovering..... anyone got any news on that score? :-)

They were the obvious subs, Mcatee, Grealish before Gundo and Walker. Those latter two totally changed our performance for the worse

Win is all that matters but we are still so far off it. Passing from the back was piss poor.
Fucking hell! Can’t you seen anything positive? We won 4-1. When Ake was on the pitch he had 100% pass accuracy. Piss poor, do you expect 200%? Walker is our weak link, he no longer has the pace. But if we can get a decent right back and someone who can play long-term alongside Rodri, and get Dias fit again, we’ll be fine for the top 4

Type of performance that does make me feel for the first time in a while that 2-3 players can actually lift this team back up to where it belongs

No where did you get that idea from?

The performances today and against Leicester weren't really any different to the previous 15 games. Forest is the only game where we have looked like a proper team.

If you think playing like this against Brentford, Ipswich or Chelsea coming up is going to get us any wins then i wish i was as naive as you.
There were plenty of times in that terrible run, where we actually played better than in the last two games. Anyone who thinks we have turned a corner, is likely to get a major shock in the coming weeks.
