When we were under the cosh in the second half against Leicester last week I actually thought Gundo could've come on and give us some control, well thank fuck Pep didn't agree then and instead brought him on here at 4-0 up, because he looked gassed the moment he stepped on the pitch.

Exactly this, he just doesn't have the legs anymore to play the #6 role, especially when you have KDB in there as well.

Same happened to the likes of Pirlo, Iniesta and Modric, but they remained really effective because they were shielded by other more athletic players so they could do what they were best at and use their brains not their legs.

The problem with City at the moment is we don’t have that kind of protection for Kev and Gundogan.

What we didn't know was what would happen to us in these last 2 months where injuries and form fucked us over big time. He's played and started more games that he and Pep probably didn't want to happen but he stepped in, knowing he wasn't the Gundog of 2 years ago. Yes he's slower and lost that bit of sharpness but fuck me enough of the pile on for him.
