This is basically the Akanji that Dortmund fans said we got when we signed him.
 
his touch has gone very hard, it bounces off him a lot, and he does that weird thing that unconfident players do when they try to set themselves really slowly to not mess up very easy passes and end up getting closed down. he's doing that a lot.

Or the fact that Dortmund was happy to let him go for only 14m. He’s gash any time we have to defend and the stats back it up. It went under the radar for his first two seasons, as we were winning everything. Almost cost us a CL trophy when he played Lautaro 1v1 against Ederson and almost cost us the league when he played through Son, but Ortega saved it. He’s the definition of a system player
 
He's already paid back his transfer fee 5-fold, but do get the suspicion that his form has been declining for a while and maybe this is perhaps a truer reflection of his ability

Dont get me wrong, he's clearly in poor form and can do better but maybe he won't reach the best he's shown for us, does seem like his current form is exactly what Dortmund, Basel and Swiss fans said we could expect

Hope he can stay fit, another big issue for a lot of our defenders at the moment

Absolutely he's been a great value, but no way he should start when Dias is back, if Ake stays fit that is.

This is the problem. He’s playing injured.

I don’t rate him as much as some but he’s trying to help the team out by playing now and it’s highlighting his weaknesses.

Unfair to judge him right now but the performances are so poor.

Fair fucks if he’s playing through/with an injury. But he’s all over the place at the moment.
