I love the kippax corner.

It's the closest you'll ever get at the Etihad to the old Kippax.

On the side, away fans close. Take City fans away from the away fans and it will kill what little is left of "atmosphere".

In reality it's gone forever with current ticketing policies and the aging fanbase apart from the really big games or if we are really shit.

Bring in under 25 years old tickets in a free standing area. New cheap season tickets or £20 a pop for match day tickets. £10 under 18.
The mad loud areas were all young lads mainly in the old days. Even then there were shit games with quiet atmospheres. No one is getting EURO daft fan type behaviour in the UK every single game.

Place would be bouncing after a few years with a younger area of mad city fans.

I guarantee this new North stand will not be bouncing unless they make it all under 25 and dirt cheap.

So why not give the SSL3 away end to younger City fans who want to sing? 1000+seats all available, next to each other, with a safe standing section already in place, that can be turned into an official singing section. Groups of young lads and mates could stand next to each other and get the chants going a lot easier, annd keep them going.

Mate anything to get tons of young blues together

I agree with this, perhaps it's just acoustics (we seem to have a lot of experts on that topic on here!) but where I am in 303 I notice singing from the Blues in 110/111 more than I do from the South stand (home or away sections).
Strange that because I stand in 110 and it's not often I can hear SS3. I suppose it's because I'm near the away fans with SS1 at the side of them.

I think we have enough singers in the stadium but the 4 main singing sections aren't together. We either have SS1 singing a different song to us in 109/110/111, and when we do sing the same song it's often out of sync.

The best way to generate the most noise in a singing section is to not have a dedicated seat number. This will allow fans to mingle where they like. Won't ever happen though because of security, the club like to know who's in each seat.

Because the away end on SSL3 is currently home fan season ticket free, City fans relocating their could apply for season tickets next to each other.

Yep. The acoustics are all over the place. If it's a quiet away end then there's a better chance of 109/110/111 singing the same song as us lot in 114/115/116 and vice versa but like you say even then it can often be out of sync as the songs don't always travel fast enough across the blocks.

As mad as it sounds, we can often have 3 or 4 different songs going off at the same time in different areas of the ground - 109/110/111, 114/115/116, 117/118/119, and SS3.

And the North stand have their own song list: )

Sponsored silence in the singing section?

Even one bloke chanting ‘come on City’ on his own around 107-108 got a chant going round the ground today it was so quiet down at the South Stand, the rest of the ground could hear that one individual.

Been some bad 'uns at our place but I reckon today was one of the worst! Not sure SSL1 made a peep all afternoon
I'm in SSL1 and I definitely tried. No hope today, sadly. I can't actually understand it as I thought that after losing a few on the trot it would bring the atmosphere back?

Sorry but after going to Leicester away which was the best away end for some time to seeing this pathetic atmosphere today was some downer. It’s getting worse by the game. Normally there’s a few in SS1 that keep it going throughout the game but it seems many have given up. What the fcuk is wrong with you! Don’t see the point of youse all moving to the new stand when there’s so many of you in SS not bothering to sing. And those drips in the family stand that look at you as if you’ve got two heads when you try to get a song going can do one. What a full set of wet weekend boring plebs we are enduring these days. Rant over- carry on.

I try not to overreact to our atmosphere, as in most cases it’s no worse than anywhere else in the Premier League.

Today was a shocker though, you could hear a pin drop at times. Some supporters need to have a look at themselves and offer more to the atmosphere. I struggle to understand how fans don’t look around in embarrassment and then offer more.

Apparently SS1 was bad? Well CB, East and North Stands are generally awful every week, I’m not sure how it doesn’t motivate more of of the approx 40k home fans not in the South Stand to sing themselves when it’s as bad as that.

If only we were like that one football club, and we all know who I’m talking about. If you’re not in your seat 20 minutes before kick off it’s like you’re late to a raucous party. You almost feel like you are pushing noise which takes a physical form. You get a high like you experience with trance music. At kick off, it feels like the stadium has taken off into another dimension. It’s a 2 hour roller coaster of visceral noise and emotion that doesn’t take a break even for half time. The concession stands sell one product, water! Just in case you overheat. As you leave the stadium, usually a good hour after the final whistle, you feel like you are phasing back into the third dimension after the best trip ever. All of this is just a midweek game against Southampton. Truly amazing. Can you guess the football club?

I think we should at least dream up a name for this fantasy club you slapped arse, moaning twats have created.
