100% agree, same goes with Walker , turning down 30m from Bayern at the age of 32 was crazy and so short sighted. We should have let him go in the summer when suggestions of £100m deal to Saudi were floating around.
I doubt we'd get a quarter of that for him now that it has become obvious that he is indeed way past his best (something that was obvious to some of us since at least last season)
Both players have had huge parts to play in our success but both have declined considerably in the last 2 seasons, never mind this one, the chance to recoup over 100m for both players at their age and with their contracts should have been taken.
Loyalty has come back to bite us hard this season and the same last year, but last season we got away with it with Foden,Alvarez , Rodri , Haaland and Akanji playing incredibly well, for me we often looked flat, one paced and very predictable for much of the season.
