I’m not sure I’d necessarily class him as brilliant. But agree with all the rest - it’s an absolute no-brainer to bring him in, if possible.

Pep is as culpable as anyone.

He is the one who has in hindsight blindly backed the likes of Kev, Gundo, Stones and many more to return to their full powers despite age and injuries against them leaving us in this position. He has refused to integrate many very talented youngsters leading to us having to sell them.

I refuse to believe that the scouting team haven't provided him wih a list of players to bring in. The club aren't going to force players onto him so he gets final say.

I think he'd deliver what we need. Not easy to directly compare Villa to the previous season with their CL commitments but they're 10pts worse off and their goal difference was 18 better. He was critical to bringing the balance to their play. Their current midfield options are a bit more attack minded and a bit more aggressive with their passing. Luiz is a solid midfielder who does the simple things, which is exactly what we need. He'd allow others to play with more freedom and creativity and give them the confidence whilst keeping the ball ticking over and mopping things up defensively.

Interestingly, IF the dippers win ALL their remaining games, they will end up with 103 points. A loss and a draw, or 2 draws and they won’t be Centurions!! Though we’ve dropped off massively this season, that would still be a big win for us…
