Maramoush signing is fantastic, but concerning there isn’t any credible links to a midfielder which we urgently and more desperately need. Not saying one is related to the other but surely we cannot let the month pass without someone coming through the door. Stiller at Stuttgart would be my first choice.

Not sure about Stiller but agree with the rest.

I think the fall back option will be Douglas Luiz on loan.

Amazing the lack of links to midfielders

*We have Rodri who's suffered a potential career ender won't play again in the league or CL this season and going forward should never play the same amount of games he's had to last few seasons again for his and the teams benefit
*Gundo and Kev who are out of contract summer 2025 and are to be polite are well past their best
*Bernardo and Kovacic out of contract in 2026 and are aging/can't press

After that it's kids (Wright & Oreilly) and wingers who Pep doesn't trust in the middle (Foden, Nunes, Grealish)

We aren't recruiting for some specialist role that few players will be happy with, any of the 3 starting spots can be upgraded now and we will need another 3-4 over the next two summers anyway

Palhinha wouldn't be a bad call but I am not sure Bayern will give up on him just yet. If anything Luiz will probably end up back at Villa.

still not sure why there hasn’t been a rush for defenders and defensive minded players. Much as everyone likes the idea of Marmoush it seems more rooted in ‘we’re signing a big name’ instead of priorities.
don't know about big name, id never heard of him until i saw him on here :)

For Next Season/Future Planning, I like this for the midfield and attack:

LW - Savio/Robinson (if playing both Rodri and Ederson, Robinson as LB goes wide)
LAM - Marmoush/Nunes
CDM - Rodri/Ederson (if only 1 plays, a defender enters midfield to make the 2)
RAM - Foden/Bobb/McAtee
RW - Doku/Frimpong

ST - Haaland

I'd use players like Lewis (RB, LB, LAM, RAM), O Reilly (ST, LAM, RAM), and Wright (CDM) as extra backups.

Edit: I scrapped Jonathan David as a striker option as perhaps what I listed already is quite a decent list of those in the LAM or RAM spots serving as a false 9 plus O Reilly as a tall backup option.
ah robinson.

i was trying to think who the other player was who people keep mentioning, along with Delap, Robinson isn't good enough either , fast but average, obviously in my opinion

We never replaced Julian, & the injury to Rodri has shown we're playing with fire expecting one of our mainstays to play every game with no cover.

Getting Marmoush now covers Haaland now, whilst we have the chance. Rodri lesson learned imo.
