Male virgins, mate. And they were virgins for a reason....If I was to to convert to any religion it would be to Islam. When I die I’d like to have 70 virgins waiting for me.

Most people understand the spiritual belief just not the organised religion clap-trap.
But as you say, the black gospel churches look a whole lot more fun than the crusty musky solemn ones the CofE and Catholics have going for them.

Born into Muslim family, hated Islam and became an atheist, felt a spiritual void and now a Christian. Is Ayaan Ali Hirsia the religious version of a glory hunter?
Is he Muslim, atheist or Christian?
He was an illusionist and a con man who probably was a founding member of the magic circleJebus is gonna have to make a return and perform some of his street magic. How come all the miracles and magic shit happened over 2000 years ago but nowt today?
and the wannabe intellectual can be very wrongSimple folk can be right too.
Aesthetes? You pair of aesthetes ever watched Kenneth Clarke's 'Civilization' series?
A David Blaine of the times. He was an illusionist and a con man who probably was a founding member of the magic circle
Have you confused 'aesthete' with another word perhaps? I was just to trying to understand your comment about cultural achievements inspired by Christianity being beneath contempt.Aesthetes?
What a plonker!
And yes I have, what of it ..?
As you reliably and indefatigably demonstrate. Compliments of the season ;-)and the wannabe intellectual can be very wrong
I've never really understood the separation of religion and spiritual. For me, they are one and the same. And, for me, if I was to go back to Church I could only go back to what I am/was familiar with.I'm not religious, but I lean very spiritual as I don't think any religion in isolation, is worth the paper it's written on by men.
With that said (and it's been quite a while), I would say visiting a Black church (on the whole) is a very different experience than a White church (I've been to a few) and one can feel the 180 difference in the power of belief.
If I was a total believer in man's interpretation of the Biblical word, sure, a Black church would be my place of visitation, personally.
Does being 'spiritual' mean you believe you have a 'spirit'?I've never really understood the separation of religion and spiritual. For me, they are one and the same. And, for me, if I was to go back to Church I could only go back to what I am/was familiar with.
I find comfort in familiarity, the sense that some things are unchanged and constant in a "mad" world.
However, each of us needs to find peace/inspiration in whatever way we can. So I take on board what you say.
For me it's familiarity and constancy, for you it might be something new and invigorating and for others it could be atheism.
No way is wrong as long as we try and be the best we can.
People are less gullible, and made up bullshine gets exposed fairly quickly these days.Jebus is gonna have to make a return and perform some of his street magic. How come all the miracles and magic shit happened over 2000 years ago but nowt today?
If he, she, they was around today he, she, they'd be gluing their face to the Mona Lisa. Was Jesus a socialist? Fictional character or not, I believe the guy that is portrayed in the bible was a decent geezer that spoke a lot of good for those times. Only problem with him was that he believed in his non-existent dad.
I guess it depends on how each person interprets it.Does being 'spiritual' mean you believe you have a 'spirit'?
God is a DJ.Christendom is a fine word and one rarely heard these days so as long as folk still use it the answer is probably no, not yet.
Or as Nigel Barton (remember him?) said "God has some very good tunes."
Quite happy to quote some passage from a dusty old book that supports their narrative but lose their shit very quickly when you point out another passage in the same book that totally contradicts their narrative.Other religions have more gullible fuckers sorry I should of said more gullible followers.
It always amazes me that American has so many religious fucking nutters. In fact it amazes me that they have so many religious people in such a modern country. I can sort of understand it in a poor country like Afghanistan were the people are simple folk.
