Classic City fan photos

Suppose there is always a weird denim style for each generation. I had a few of the drop crotch style few years ago god knows what I was thinking!

Stick to the straight leg nowadays!
Levi 501's are still my fave, I remember buying my first pair, they were shrink to fit and I did actually get in the bath with them on! My old man thought I was nuts, came in the bathroom, just shook his head and walked out without saying anything !

Anything beats trackies and a puffer jacket though!

From looking at the kids in town today it looks like flares and baggy pants might be making a comeback!!

They are actually seems to be a new trend particularly with the ladies seen a fair few flares lately, but they hug their arse well so I don't mind!

Tracksuit and puffer jackets seem decent attire for the weather tbh! It's when people wear them for nights and meals out I shake my head.

There were a couple of pictures posted a few years back city away Wimbledon or palace first game of the season about 83 ish . How do I find them please ?

Is it me or did everyone in the 70's look scruffy bastards? I include my self as well looking back at photos of me from that era.
Despite what the current moaning generation, who can't allegedly afford anything tell you, we had no money then so yes we were scruffy bastards.
I wanted to be a 'smoothie' as the fashion was called. Ben Sherman, Crombies, etc, they looked effin' smart, could I afford it ? Could I fuck.

As @Lovebitesandeveryfing said earlier - there is a truth to these photographs and the truth is that many of us had fuck-all materially. But then again we had everything.

Today's mob constantly whinge about us having it easy, they think having it hard is not affording an arse wax or a latte de ****.

My dad was on strike more than he worked in the 70’s! We didn’t have a pot to piss in most of the time. Only improved when my mum went back to work after my sister started school.

Still have a pair of two tone trousers bought back in the day from Stolen from Ivors (and they still fit me).
Got all my gear from Justins, Stolen from Ivor, oasis and the underground market.

Loved my two tone tonics. Along with smart shoes...loafers, royals etc

In his fringed and buckled stompers and his two tone tonic strides !!
Here comes Johnny Reggae .

You rich bastard :-)

Great look, really smart. Just no way I could afford it
Didn't you have a job to help pay for your fashion clobber ?
I was helping my Dad on his UCD milk round ( on Higher Crumpsall) from age 10. I used to save my money and eventually started buying my clothes with it aged about 13 years old.

I can go back a little bit further than Stolen from Ivor.
The original " boutique" was on New Brown Street ( the whole street was demolished to make way for The Arndale Centre) and it was originally called - Ivor, Cord King of the World .

Anyone remember the patchwork jumpers? Have looked on line to try and find one and can't even find any pictures of anyone wearing one, I'd love another if I could find one before I'm 70 8-).

Update - looked again and found this !
Lad with the red hair has a jumper on pretty much like the one I remember having!
