Kick off time 19:30 (GMT).

This should be a much tougher test, not sure if we'll get anyone signed in time for it either.

Couple of youngsters might now be in the managers thoughts.

Be a great result if we won this, they usually give us a game when we're on top form though.

We’re on a roll, scoring for fun, only one goal conceded in 3 games, confidence returning, injury crisis abating, new signings arriving …. things are looking up.

Time for the collective muscle memory of the squad to kick in and for us to embark on one of our remarkable runs

5-2 City

Pep should get the proposed first eleven to who are going to play against Brentford and repeatedly show them re-runs of yesterday’s game. Hopefully that will give them a clue as to how he wishes them to play.

Big big test this! You look at the fa cup they lost they had 72% possession Plymouth parked the bus made it very very hard and they lost! It's just how we come up against majority of teams! This games though we will have majority of the ball and Brentford are one of the best on the break with there first pass over the top balls to there pacy players! Think I'd take a draw!

No doubt their GK Flekken will have the match of his life, as he does every time we play Brentford. However, we'll still prevail 2-1.

Yeah, I've noticed that, too. He makes a number of superb saves against us. This is definitely a “test” match, to see how far out of the woods we are (or if we are at all).
By the way, everybody had better get used to seeing Rico in right-back position. We won't be seeing anyone else for the time being.

Not a bad shout with the team selection but if Dias is ready I’d have him
back in the side and have Akanji on the right.

Akanjis form is not great but Lewis really worries me at right back. He’s good going forward but defensively he’s a mistake waiting to happen.

They're a very good team, this will be a tough game and any win would be a great result. Haaland, KDB and co being rested will hopefully make a huge difference. Don't think any new signings will feature but I wouldn't be surprised to see Khusanov come off the bench against Ipswich.

If that new centre back is signed I’d start him.

Ederson
Akanji Khusanov Ake Gvardiol
O’reilly Bernardo
Foden KDB Savio
Haaland

Not for me, proper baptism of fire, Brentford away. I know Laporte started a few days after signing but he was a bit older and it was a much easier game. I don't think Pep would put Khusanov in that situation.
