relying on our better squad, better players but not wanting or cannot work as hard is now what we see and it looks shit as we are turned over a lot, and lesser teams are not being afraid to keep attacking us. they know they can get at us. if they see Brentford, Leicester running past our midfield numerous times others will fancy their chances. Ipswich will try it too in few days.

lot of thing plays into it, winning too much, getting bit comfortable, getting old with some crucial players, injuries, poor recruitment since the treble, some players get comfortable while their form aint great, some may have lost some hunger thinking they won it all.

we need to go back to working harder than other teams or just as hard. make it hard for them to create chances. concede less chances. one Rodri alternative aint gonna bring that. we need to stop accommodating the ones who are not working or cannot work hard anymore.

We are apparently finding the squad places for Marmoush and 2 CBs. We are playing Haaland and KDB and both are making absolutely no attempt at pressing. They're just walking everywhere and so the other 2 attackers can't effectively press. If we are going to win the ball back not in our box it will need to be in midfield and we desperately need bodies there. Kovacic is supposed to be a part time rotational option and he's the only semi competent midfielder we have . Its hardly a surprise that everyone is running through us and putting our back line in duress. The only thing these signings are going to change is the speed and average age of the defenders being torn apart without help

Really really hope we start hearing some links with a midfielder soon, it is our Achilles heel at the moment. Kovacic isn’t great as a 6 but he’s miles better than Gundogan who can’t play there and is a huge issue when he does.

If we don’t get someone who can play as a 6 this window it’s hard to see us winning anything or even finishing top 4 simply because we simply can’t stop teams getting at our back 4

When you look at it we have no defensive mid cover no striker cover we haven’t even got a left back and now we haven’t got a right back which for a team that aspires to be the best in the world is shameful . How have we managed to fall this far from a treble winning team and best in the world by a mile .

But with a schedule of PSG, Chelsea, Brugge, Arsenal coming up starting next week its safe to say it certainly would have helped if we had some reinforcements in place right now.

It took Rodri 18 months to learn the number 6 position , Kovacic is struggling with the positioning now

How do we expect someone new to instantly get it

Surely, city are trying for a midfield perm transfer, otherwise they would have taken Douglas Luis for a 6 month loan already.
