This explains every bit of why the ball ended up in our net!

What is our DM doing level with our striker??

Shouldn't he be making sure he's in a good defensive position?? If not who was supposed to be playing DM??

Hope & a prayer?!?!?!

To be fair it is the only position I would put him these days as we know he is capable of scoring important goals. 20 mins when we need a goal is about the full extent of his worth these days. It was a poor decision to bring him back but its fucking foolish to think he can play a crucial position in central midfield anymore. This is on Pep.

Gary Neville (IAFC) but he had the wherewithal to retire mid-season when he realised his legs had gone and his performances were detrimental to the team.

Seeing as Pep will always sub him on whatever despite the showings, I’m hoping Gundogan might have the self-awareness to take a page out of Neville’s book. His (re)signing has been our worst in the last five years.

It's up in the air at the moment! I'm waiting till there is 6/8 games to go and how many points we are from 4th 5th think our last 6/8 games are decent games to win
Some people are too used to having to win 14 games in a row (to win the league) and forget it’s much much easier to jump into a top 4/5 spot. 5 wins in a row and you’re suddenly 2nd or 3rd.

Yep plenty of games to go but we don't qualify this season with club World Cup money would ease it with the money we going to get from that any other season we looking at around 80/150m loss of revenue

His form at Barca was very good last year for goals and assists

I do believe we are going to be in the Top 4.
Hopefully but we’ve got a horrible run of fixtures after Ipswich. If nothing happens midfield wise over the next 2 weeks it’s going to be real struggle. I think Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle will all finish above us. So could be scrapping it out with Chelsea and Forest for 4th.

He’s clearly finished at the top level, it happens to all great players, but if he and the club have any sense he’ll be straight into Pep’s coaching team next season. Even as assistant manager.

Worth having him back in the City fold for that and this season’s performances will be quickly forgotten.

I still maintain that some of the blame he’s got from a lot of fans is undeserved, he’s been asked to do a job he didn’t apply for this season.

Gundo has more credit in the bank than Jeff Bezos in my opinion.

What job was that?

He played 50 times last year. I think everyone must be shocked at just how fucking slow and unfit he is.

He wasn't exactly on a retirement farewell at Barca. He was a key part of their team.

What on earth has happened.

He was also really good for Germany at the Euros.

But it happens sometimes. La Liga is a slower league with lower quality, so Gundogan's decline probably didn't seem quite so steep. Now he's back in a faster league, being asked to do a job he wasn't expecting to do, it's exposing how suddenly his legs have gone.

Really, really hope he becomes part of the backroom team next season.

I did read somewhere very recently that he and Pep had already discussed / had a gentleman's agreement in place but can't remember where now..might even have been on the 9320 or let me talk podcasts.

It makes so much sense given Pep and Gundogan know City and each other inside out, obviously get on well and have massive respect for each other, and Gundo has done his coaching badges. Even in his last couple of seasons at City before he went to Barcelona he was doing quite a lot of coaching with the youth teams!

Without a signing in midfield we are not getting anywhere near top 4 as Liverpool Chelsea Newcastle arsenal and even forest will run the through our midfield at will and put our defebce under pressure and without champions league it could then hinder our summer targets who may want the champions league games . Out gamble of keeping an aging team has really fucked us this season .

On what basis should he be given a first team coaching role at one of the top clubs in the world when he has zero coaching experience? ,there are far more qualified people out there for that position.

I'm not saying sack Pep and make him manager, I'm saying he ideally placed to have a role in our coaching department.

Just like Arteta was, or Kompany would've been had he decided to stay.

Not sure why you've got your knickers in a twist.

But why is he ideally suited ? Why not Fernandinho, Zabaleta, Andy Morrison, Shaun Goater, Nigel De Jong, ??
