*Technically* McFarlane has signed and joins in exactly 9 days. Echeverri signed previously
But I don't think a few days here or there on the first team players matters that much in the scheme of things

Good summary of the state of play I think.Macfarlane and Echeverri are confirmed. Khusanov and Reis are in Manchester and presumably not here on holiday. Cambiaso I'm not even sure is a real story. Marmoush seems to be progressing well.

So; no use to us in our current predicament, then? We need players who can step into the first team now, not next season. A lot of the present squad are on their last legs, or are ptifully out of form. "jam tomorrow" is of no use to us right now.No, might make the bench a few times, but doubt we see him.

Yes. He's already in River's first team, he's played 52 games for them this season. The idea he's going from Copa Libertadores games and playing in front of 83,000 every week for one of the biggest clubs in the world to our EDS is sort of mental and what people said about Alvarez aswell until the World Cup.Will he be ready to go straight into the first team squad? Who ever mentioned not attempting ? Nobody not one person. The sensible though understand we might not be able to fix everything and get all the players we want to rebuild in one January window. Maybe we will , or maybe enough to finish top 4 and win a cup but expecting it is very needy and entitled.
Who mentioned expectations? Nothing wrong with ambition or wanting the club to do all it can to try to salvage this season.
We’ll be lucky to sign even one of these players.
Remember, no players move in January.

The generally perceived wisdom is that it takes most players a season to get up to speed in a Pep side. We will be in a fight for a top 4 spot this season and I’m wondering if and how these new guys are going to help us do that.
