Yes. He's already in River's first team, he's played 52 games for them this season. The idea he's going from Copa Libertadores games and playing in front of 83,000 every week for one of the biggest clubs in the world to our EDS is sort of mental and what people said about Alvarez aswell until the World Cup.

A lot of people feel like he's not kicked on as much as expected but I hope we get to see him. Looks a real talent and will benefit by playing with people on the same wavelength. Still very young, but that doesn't mean he can't deliver for us - all about mentality. Will be interesting to see how he gets on with their U20s over the next few weeks.

So,if you believe what you read, we could have three or four or even five new players arriving in January. Echeverri will be here in February.

The generally perceived wisdom is that it takes most players a season to get up to speed in a Pep side. We will be in a fight for a top 4 spot this season and I’m wondering if and how these new guys are going to help us do that.
I would say it was more accurate to say players have to be afforded a season to get upto speed, many click sooner and some straight away. Laporte and jesus were probably our last 2 big mid-season signings and both hit the ground running.

Also, you've got to factor in that at this point in most seasons we are about to hit top gear and go on a formidable title winning run so players not fully on it find themselves watching on with no chance to give them minutes. It's fair to say that's not the case this year, the standard is considerably lower, if you're capable of movement, you've got a chance of getting into our side at present so there's more scope for new signings to get minutes and settle with the aide of games than usual.

In the name of good fuck how many players are we interested in signing, this window reminds me of the summer when Shiekh Mansour bought the club,we were linked to all sorts of players..

It's funny if these signings turn out to be gems . If we bought in the summer like we needed to it would not have been these players. Might have worked to our benefit long term. Funny how things can play out.

JSP 6
Khusanov 31 + 10 Uzbekistan
Reis 22

But the newbies are moving to a new country, probs dont speak English, never played in the Prem, so they may need a few months to settle in. We have 3-4 months to achieve UCL qualification. Personally I would have gone all out for Guehi, he has approx 200 senior games and is only 24.

btw Echeverri 48 games: in Argentina, just 19 ! ,
McFarlane 0 games: from New York City, still TBC
So they are clearly above his level
