Hate to be weird but a clean sheet win is technically not 'outscoring' your opponent.

Point I was making was, both teams will concede.

Just musing over your definition, there. So you would in effect be saying that the sentence "He scored zero points in the quiz” is nonsensical?

By the way: I agree with your general points. Both teams will score goals.

Correct.

And yes, definitely expecting a high scoring game.

Just looking at the poll. Now I expect us to win, but I'm a bit surprised by how certain the poll seems to be. P.S.G. are not the force that they were, but personally I think we're still in the convalescent state. We should underestimate no-one.

I don't know which option to pick in the vote lol.

Head says a strong win, heart says a repeat of Brentford.

I'll go for a Desmond and a scruffy win next week to see us scrape through to the finals.

A clean sheet win means you out-scored your opponent however you phrase it ???
The 'out' prefix denotes both teams performed the same action but one achieved a higher degree in said action.

How many times have you heard "it's finished at the Etihad and City have Outscored the opponent 1 goal to nil"

its not wrong but its inaccurate.

I think it's just the sort of game we need now that we are looking a little more like our usual selves. The players will know the importance of the game and hopefully that will give added focus. I voted for a City win, I'm not for one second getting carried away, our defensive midfield frailty still worries me but with Dias back and after the Ipswich game, I have a little more confidence, particularly as we have now started scoring more goals.

Even though Bernardo is one of my all time favorite players, but I think it will be criminal to bench Gundogan after his last performance.

There's no way we can leave Phil out with the form he's in?

Nunes can't play in this surely!

Agreed. Gundo is a slow starter... it is possible albeit it was v. Ipswich - that he's found first gear at last.

Not neccesarily what id go with but what i think Pep will do.

Ederson
Nunes
Dias
Akanji
Gvardiol
Kovacic
Gundogan
Foden
Bernardo
Savinho
Haaland

I'm assuming same availability as ipswich so no ake or stones means the back 4 picks itself. Gundo is always a shoe in for a European game so expect him to keep his place. Think pep will go slightly more conservative at least to start with in search of control of the game so bernardo comes in on the right and he'll help both Nunes behind him and in central midfield. Foden from a central position and savinho gets the nod over doku for being the fresher and least likely to give the ball away of the two whilst still actually offering a threat.

Kdb on the bench as we go for complete possession, we also have to remember he cannot play every game anymore. Kdb and doku options from the bench if we need to chase things.
Would be amazed if KDB didn’t start. Hence Pep taking his 2 main men off with 30 to go on Sunday
