Not only has he withdrawn from Paris he’s withdrawn from WHO! They are going it alone, I think NATO should be afraid this **** will withdraw if we aren’t careful.

That’s not quite true. He’s signed an order to begin the process. He did this in his first term too. Much like with the UN, his gripe is that America pays the lion’s share and other countries don’t pull their weight.

He’s also pissed off that the WHO were too soft on laying blame at China during covid.

I’m no Trump fan but to be fair, while signing an executive order and threatening to leave the WHO is reckless at best, like a many of Trump’s wacky statements there is a grain of truth to it and he does have a point here.

It’s not the way a sensible president would go about making that point, of course.

Why should NATO be scared if he is as dangerous as people think? Surely they would celebrate him isolating himself?

The people who should be scared are the fools that have set stupid unachievable net zero goals for which we are paying fortunes with very little to zero benefit?

How can net zero have zero benefit, and be better than increasing pollution, and while the time scales may be unachievable,in some countries, net zero isn’t unachievable long term.

Its the ridiculous costs that we (in the UK) are paying and people are suffering when in reality we contribute less than a mosquitos fart to global warming. We need to take care o our own...

It’s a sad reflection on human nature that the wealthiest country in the world resents paying more than any other.

In my experience rich people moan far more about paying taxes than those who aren’t. It’s not even a rich v poor observation. It’s rich v the rest.

The more people acquire, the more they resent giving it up, and the more they become convinced everyone else is ripping them off.

Because NATO relies on USA, Putin would see this as a way of weakening the west. I agree with the net zero stuff, the clamber to do it so quick in certain parts of the world whilst the rest dont is stupid, it’s a it like the “woke” stuff for want of a better term you stuff it down people’s throats so much they push back and it’s happening everywhere now. I can’t stand Trump and he has jumped on the populist bandwagon wagon but lots of people have had enough and the left are just as much to blame as the right.

Agree entirely. What Trump is demanding is that those who want/need protection should pay their fair share. Not totally unreasonable and is maybe the kick up the arse the world needs?
