His age group / generation don’t like passing things on to the next in line. As long as he’s breathing he’ll want the power. Only when he’s dead will the next one get a chance.

Naw, I think the fact that he's protected himself from his own legal quagmires (assuming he doesn't get into new ones) means he's achieved pretty much all he needed to. Now it will be about getting revenge -- which is why so many big-dollar polesmokers have come out of the woodwork to kneel in front of him. They can get in on the fleece/grift of his supporters and protect themselves and their companies if not enhance their positions. When he's done (if he lasts), he'll trudge-walk into retirement without a care in the world. He doesn't care what happens to his kids or the country after he's finished; whatever good happens, he'll take credit for, and whatever bad emerges he'll blame on the (out-of-power) Dems.
