yes we put 8 past Salford and 6 past Ipswich, but PSG, Chelsea, Brugge, Arsenal all to play against before window closes and they are no Salford City. CL and top is on the line over the next 5-6 weeks with almost only hard games. Kovacic and Gundo int gonna get us through these games coming every 3 days.

Top 4 isn't on the line. Even if we get some poor results from the tough games to come, there are plenty of winnable games thereafter we can win to climb back into it. Top 5 is possibly going to be enough for CL football next season as well.

As for the CL, again one win from the next two gets us a playoff. New recruits are coming. The burden on the midfield has been too much and that's not just on them, it's because the forward line haven't been pressing and it's left us stretched. We pressed hard and effectively against Ipswich after the first goal and turned it over high up the pitch numerous times. As a result Gundo and Kovacic could pick it up on the front foot and we weren't getting bypassed and overrun.

Lots of options in attacking areas helps us keep those energy levels up.

I do think top4 is on the line. extra CL place certainly could help our chances.

I also think you base a lot on ripping apart a shit Ipswich which was decent performance but I think it was more to do with Ipswich than us turning the corner. well this week will give us more of answer to that, in terms of what control we can do in midfield, can we keep a lead, can we even get a lead, can we fight back if we go behind vs real strong squads.

agree on the points its not just midfield,our defence is shit as our midfield doesnt protect them at all from shit situations developing. midfield not helped at all by lack of pressing upfront and even trackback. but that still leaves the tired legs of gundo and KDB, a Kovacic who wont be fit 5 months straight and a burnt out Bernardo with maybe Stones made of glass be a rare option for a few games before injury setback.

Just can't see it happening but would love to be wrong - fantastic player and would say he could play at the top for at least another 5/6 years. No resale value but would gladly see us spend £70 million on him.
