It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

Totally uncalled for imho.
It’s a deal that benefits all parties. (Well, maybe not AC Milan)

He’s finished at PL level. He’s not really kicked up a fuss like Cancelo did and found a route out to a club he’s happy with.

Better to celebrate his achievements with us than dwell on him staying 6/18* months too long.

Disagree, fans are well within their rights to call him out. The truth is his legs going is secondary to why it has gone so tits up for him this season. The real reason is abhorrent behavior off the pitch catching up with him which we all would be having a field-day with if the United or Liverpool captain were doing it. I think many struggle to accept him as the captain of the club for that reason alone.

If it was just the fact that he was a limited and at times frustrating but great player that lost his performance levels to the degree he has become a liability, these type of comments could be considered very harsh but as I said that is secondary.

You can either serve the club well on and off the pitch and leave as a legend, or serve the club well on the pitch but not off it and leave with many fans having a bad taste in their mouth. I personally won't shed many tears for Walker

well for me, the last period is rather bad regarding him, of course we cannot forget all those great years when he was largely a rock in our defence with the odd brainfart with much more good than bad and helped us win lots of trophies and crucial CL ties.

but letting him go to Saudi or Bayern when even 15m fees were mentioned on him would have been the right thing to do summer of 2023 rather than sign him up for another 3 year contract with Pep begging him to stay. like he is doing us a favour staying.

then his off field antics kind of made him wanna get away from tabloid press and this country to try to save his marriage and this affected his performance alongside aging and be more error prone and bit disinterested too.

some of the things he said tho as captain of changing all City trophies except one each for an Euros win, no fucking way a club captain should say that even if he really thinks that way.
how hard to say to that type of question that its not comparable, or Euros would be just as great as all the trophies won with City or not even answer it.

lets try to remember the good memories on him as there were quite a few. will take a proper signing to replace him, I mean the Walker up until 2023.

Your choice .

Agree that not everybody feel the same way, but the post I responded to was a bitter and uncalled for comment towards a player who has played a big part in the success of the club since his signing.

His morals and behaviour off the pitch I do not personally care for, but I will not deny his involvement or achievements in some peevish and spiteful manner, because of them,

Last word

Just can't see it happening but would love to be wrong - fantastic player and would say he could play at the top for at least another 5/6 years. No resale value but would gladly see us spend £70 million on him.
We'd move heaven and Earth to sign him for £70m. He's a wonderful player.

Until the end of the season, not 12 months.
To be honest Walkers alleged deal/contract with Milan is supposed to be until 2027 so how do you have a loan deal for that long with purchase option. Some Italian concocted deal which doesn’t add up.

Sounds like the buy option is almost certainly going to be triggered.

There's no way we're signing Barella. But if that's disappointing, just think about the lad 5 years younger who we will sign and will end up even better! (Not sure who that is right now, but ignore that bit)

Loan deal until the end of the season, with a purchase option for Milan. If they trigger the purchase, they already have terms agreed with Walker for a 2-year contract. Sounds pretty straight-forward?

I honestly don’t see us adding anyone else after these 3. Marmoush will allow foden to go central, Bernardo will be used only as a cm option as well and we have kovacic, gundogan, grealish and Lewis who can all play in cm.

The 2cbs also allow akanji to play in midfield if w get really desperate.

Add to the fact you can only add 3 to champs league squad I just don’t see anyone else coming in until summer.

What we have now is likely enough to finish top 4
I think Marmoush would probably stay central and Foden would play wide. Ahree on Berny playing mostly CM.

But in vig games i expect Pep to revert to his faithful.

Walker's "legs going" still puts him in the 95th percentile for speed of global footballers. It's his form you should be referring to, & in that respect he's struggled this season like the rest of the squad have, or have his critics failed to notice this?

As to his private life, many fans have taken to the moral high-ground to have a dig at him, but used City's slump in form as a wall to hide behind. The truth is when Kyle was shuttling between the two women & familes in his life, he was considered the best RB in the world, & the best in PL & City history.

Few were bothered or complained about his chaotic love life when he was delivering the goods for City & England, but now age is beginning to catch up with him & City suffer a slump in form, they suddenly have a problem with our captain?

I think this says more about Walker's naysayers than it does Kyle. He's a fuckin legend & will always be. As for the women in his life, they can always walk away from Kyle the womaniser & his millions. They're not. Perhaps people should be questioning their morals too.

The purchase option seems like a formality as I have read a few reports where it is stated Walker is ready to sign a contract until 2027. That doesn’t sound like a loan with a purchase option as being reported.

Yes, that previous tweet claims they're paying him €2.5m until the end of this season and if they do agree to sign him permanently then he'll get €4.5m for the next 2 seasons. I've seen nothing about a fee to us, and there may well be none if they're covering his wages for this season. Seems a very City type of deal for a long serving player.

The thing is, loads of people were and rightfully so

Not when he was busy creating football folklore after his epic battles with Vinicius Jnr, winning doubles & trebles for City, & starring for England in major finals.

We all knew about his personal life at that point, so where we're the critics? They were far too busy revelling in the joy & success Walker brought to City & England to notice or care about his domestic arrangements.
