President Trump

I don't know why everybody gets so upset about these things. The Church is hardly going to say enjoy your time Mr President when he plans to attack and divide certain groups.

The only difference is she stood up and said something but I doubt Trump will lose sleep over it. It probably won't hit the spot with the supposed American right-leaning Christians but then again that itself is a massive hypocrisy.

It's ironic that gun ownership amongst Christians in the US is higher than the general population... That is a group of people who claim to be pro-life all mostly own a weapon capable of ending somebody else's life. You can't imagine anything more un-Christian if you tried.
This is American christianity we're talking about here, it's fucking weird. Guns and racism is great, treating your fellow human in the same way you wish to be treated? That makes you a limp wristed woke dickhead. If Jesus was to magically return, he'd fucking hate that crowd (unless the bible is wrong and Jesus is in fact bang into guns and racism).

Answer the question.

How can you claim to be a 'Christian' and then you meet a real 'Christian' and suddenly fall apart.

Trump and his sycophants wouldn't know Christian values if it slapped them in the fucking arse.

A real Christian you say?

More pastors supporting Trump than Harris, survey shows

A recent Lifeway Research survey of church leaders in the US has revealed that twice as many pastors plan to support former President Donald Trump (50 per cent) over Vice President Kamala Harris (24 per cent) in the upcoming US election, with 23 per cent saying they are ‘undecided’.

Looks like all these "unreal" Christian pastors took a different view, seems the orange won the popular vote there as well.

You're running out of road, cut your loses and give it a rest.

Nothing to do with christian values is it though. You ‘d have to be some idiot to believe Trump is either christian or has christian values. At least not what I understand as what christian values should mean, not being one.

But that's not the point.

All the nice folk in here are only too willing to spout that President Trump uses religion to sell his political message but their heads explode if anyone suggests that the Right Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde did the same.

Again, may I point out....

The Bishop made a political speech, it really is that simple.

Its the point that matters, and a Bishop pointing it out is more than reasonable, in fact it’s her job. Not sure why you’d want to turn it into something more than that. Also don’t know what your obsession is with what a poll of pastors say. I would guess I wouldn’t find many of them that christian either.

I've seen that post and all the others heaping praise on the Bishop, I get it, we all hate Trump, I hate Trump, I get the feeling my cat hates Trump, notwithstanding, that was a political speech.

Trump has been given a mandate to deport illegal immigrants regardless of whether they're law abiding dads and mums who pay taxes, Trump has declared there are only two sexes, in this regard he's more in tune with traditional Christian teachings than the Bishop, so he's unlikely to show compassion to a group he doesn't believe exists. By the way, the Bishop talked about "in fear of their lives" that's a reference to the Pyramid of Hate...

You'll struggle to find the Pyramid of Hate in scripture.

Folk need to give their heads a wobble or the likes of Trump will just keep on winning.

I don't know why everybody gets so upset about these things. The Church is hardly going to say enjoy your time Mr President when he plans to attack and divide certain groups. The religiousness involved in these type of things is purely ceremonial and she took her shot and she'll be forgotten.

The only difference is she stood up and said something but I doubt Trump will lose sleep over it. It probably won't hit the spot with the supposed American right-leaning Christians but then again that itself is a massive hypocrisy.

I'm not sure this Bishop is you archetypal Right-wing Christan zealot, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't spend her leasure tine down at the rifle range with all the fake Christians who spend their Sunday mornings washing away their sins in some bumblefuck mega-church listening to some crazy evangelist who'se about as compassionate as a dose of piles.

And you don't think Trump lost any sleep over it?

He would have been seething all fucking night, and plotting his revenge which will no doubt be absolutely vile.

Saved by God yet didn’t put his hand on the Bible at the swearing in, why, was he afraid it would burn him?

That is a fucking disgrace. All the poor people in the country who voted for him should have thought about it better
Thought about it at all tbh. I can't stand Trump and I worry how the next 4 years will go under the orange numpty, that said I do find him interesting to watch, he's nothing if not 'out there!'.

So, the Bishop just getting in line and saying fuck all is going to stop Trump from 'winning' exactly how?

George Orwell's future coming into reality before our very eyes.

Steven Miller works in the Records Department of the Ministry of Trump, where his job is to rewrite historical documents so they match the constantly changing current Trump utterances. This involves revising website articles and doctoring records — mostly to remove "unpersons", people who have fallen afoul of the Donald.

The next step maybe from the Putin Playbook - changes to the constitution that will allow another term. Putin changed the term length from 4 to 6 years and used this to justify ignoring his previous "shortened" terms in limiting to 2 terms. I can see Trump doing similar under the banner of 4-year terms being too short to be fully effective and costly inviting excessive contribution and influence from financial backers (as he has enjoyed).

Then maybe one from Adolf's playbook, how long before oaths of allegiance will be to some form of Trumpism rather than to the Constitution?

While Trump controls the Senate, Congress and Supreme Court, there's no stopping him. The only hope is that next mid-term elections can change that. Unfortunately, all the sources of public communication are owned and run by the US oligarchy.

Well done America, you got what you voted for, you got what you deserve.
Changing the Constitution is a tad more difficult than you might believe…but never say never, I guess.

As for your last comment, do you believe that those who were anti-Brexit “got what they deserved” when the vote went against them? How about non-Conservative voters at every election the Tories won?

Telling an entire population that they “got what they deserve” because there were not enough of them in opposition is both naive and spiteful.

Even more spitfire if you tell his voters they got what they deserved because they're stupid.
