Were we ever seriously linked with that Neves in the summer before he signed for PSG?

He looks like exactly the sort of young player that we needed to buy and rebuild the midfield around.

Always easy in hindsight but the difference in physicality between that Neves and our midfield really is eye opening.

We’ve simply been left behind in that aspect of the game.
