PSG (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Chased Bellingham for a year only to be rejected.
Panicked and bid for Rice last minute but Arse had already put in the work.
Wanted a back up to take the load off Kev, identified Paqueta but pulled out because of betting charges, panic bought Nunes instead.
Bought Kova to replace Gundo and be back up to Rodri when he wasnt a regular starter for Chelski.
Sold Lavia, with a weak buy-back clause.
Passed on Paulinha.
Bought Kalvin Phillips.
Refused to pay B.Guimares buy out clause and tried negotiating with Newcastle until the buy-out clause expired.

This is why we've fallen off a cliff.
You didn’t mention the disgraceful purchase of Nunes

He should have been hooked at half time , we had a decent counter end of first half , and he put a ball across that was a fucking total embarrassment, he did one earlier that had Kev going fucking mad , get rid of the **** tomorrow for me
Nunes, I’m afraid to say, was utter wank. It’s not his ability, it’s his mentality.

Thought he may come good but he just doesn’t have the capability to become a City player.

Just came here expecting to read 30 pages at most. Little did I know that this place thrives on a defeat, doom, gloom and misery. Have a proper blue moan.

Pep is going to convert me from a happy clapper into a crappy flapper with this tepid displays and meltdowns giving away 2 goals leads. Ditto Kovacic, Bernardo, Nunes, Akanji and Lewis. Even Phil does not cover himself in glory.
No Dias no clean sheet.

Anyway, one more next wednesday and see if we are going to forfeit the chumps league, after we reclaim our fourth spot from the cold Palmer's chavs.

Well after Ipswich I did wonder if we were back or just ‘raggy’ back. Seems like it was the latter. We made PSG look as good as Ipswich made us look! It would still be no surprise if we were through and they were out this time next week though. Not that it would do us much good, we are light years away from being good enough to compete in this competition ATM. God knows how long it will take to rebuild, could be a couple of years looking at them this season.

Pondering on the midfield situation. Perhaps we can’t identify a suitable, available and affordable target this window. The club, mindful of recent expensive mistakes, are content to let this season go and go big in summer. Annoying, but plausible view of the situation?
But how much will it cost us in the long run by missing out on CL next season, and who will want to come, we’ll be fishing in a different pond then.
At least buy 2 fullbacks and 2 midfielders to save this season.

Probably the best post I’ve seen on here in ages.

We look finished mate , complete fucking garbage , when teams like Bournemouth runs rings round us , it’s time to see the woods for the trees , Jack tonight , with his slapped arse attitude , where have you been all season you mard arsed **** , and you can see the players sympathy for him , whoopee do Jack you’re a dad. The dressing room needs a kick up the arse , the hunger has gone with most of this squad
Very poor in the second half but we have started a squad rebuild. We need to find away of getting over the line in the close games and that for
me is the most worrying aspect. The substitutions often result in us going backwards.

I agree with the poster who said the forwards often get a free get of jail card. We can afford Erling’s lack of mobility if everyone else is bang at it but Jack and Phil, in particular, have been very ordinary this season. Bernado has covered for other players in the past but no
Longer seems to have that energy.

We need to be the 12th man or things will get worse. There needs to be more fight on and off the pitch. We are only finished if we believe that we are.

I’m not too worried about missing out. Players will still come. We are now a class outfit. I’m more concerned about the size of the rebuild

Akanji is always front and centre of goals we concede. He’s too weak and his positional awareness is poor. Decent back up, but that’s it
Akanji was hands down our best player tonight, It wasn't even close.

He was having a really good game, Until everything went to shit when we leaked the first goal.

Akanji is a much better player when Ruben Dias plays alongside him, Reminds me of years ago when we played Lescott and Nastasic together or Kolo Toure and Lescott together...Absolutely bobbins, Once Kompany was alongside either of them they are much better with leadership alongside them, We have that problem when Dias is missing.

Feeling an enormous sense of clarity after that.

Been trying to figure out what's wrong for weeks but it's all hit me in one go.

We've hit a wall. It's that simple. Some players will climb over it, some will have to be left behind.

They gave everything to get that fourth title last season and deflated as soon as it was won.

Great teams fall from time to time. But great teams also rebuild, which we will.

Sadly this isn't the 90s and 2000s, when you could be off it for a season and still finish 2nd with 65-70 points.

We'll be back.
