He may have no choice. Dias is injured again. Nunes is nota right back. Ake is injured, and I very much doubt that Stones is fit. That leaves Akanji and Gvardiol. Hence my comments that the long term problem is the defence but the solution we have gone for will likely resolve itself only over the long term.
We’ll just have to wait and see. I’m optimistic. The new defenders aren’t just CBs, they are both versatile by all accounts. The dual DoF team are hard at work. More to come?

I’ll call them whatever I fvckin like sunshine … Then again, in hindsight, I’m actually more mad at myself for missing Winterwatch, just too old for all this post match bickering.
You absolutely can call our players what you want, and I fully expect you do. Like I say, you appear to lack the backbone which you are castigating others for not having. You wouldn’t be the first football supporter to be guilty of that tbf.

Enjoy your day.

I've been on here 17 years, man and boy. And I've seen some really staggering threads (almost definitely been responsible for some of them), but this one is right up (down?) there with the best of them. It will be worthy of a place in the classic threads forum. Well done OP.

Hence I started a new one on Khusanov but no doubt we will continue with the rag-inspired nonsense

Back in the day I’d have my post match grumble (about a certain Striker* from Fulham) in The Claremont, then a pint or two later I’d be fine. The thing with t’internet is the morning after it’s still there for all to see.

Enjoy yours too, hopefully the Rags can cheer me up later as they embarrass themselves again against a genuine pub team ;) something PSG certainly weren’t.

*only kidding.

Fair enough mate, and like you say it’s only the internet :-)

Can’t imagine which striker you’re referring to btw…

Kudos to whoever changed the thread to the, because its original one was quite frankly an embarrassment.

by the end of the next set of PL fixtures chances are we will be down to 8th or even 9th. I mean once we have next 6 PL games Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool, Spurs, Forest games out of the way until 8th of March.
not kidding, even rags will be lot closer to us than the current 12 points gap to them.

after that we need to overtake possibly 3-4 teams in last 10 games which is generally a lot easier set of fixtures with few banana skins like rags away but all home games to those that will be just around us on table like Villa, Brighton, Bournemouth who all beat us at their place.

Can't see a top 6 finish this year.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Utd rise above us after the upcoming run of games we have

We've been ruined.

1. First team to ever get 100 points in the history of the English top flight.
2. First team to ever win the domestic Treble. Even after the dominance by Rags and Dippers in previous times they never won it.
3. Won the Treble.
4. First team in the history of the English top flight to win 4 titles in a row.

That has taken a lot out of the players, more than any of us could imagine. Listen to all the ex pros and what they say it takes to win back to back league titles, well imagine the mental gymnastics at play to win 4.

Tough times and some of the players just can't do it for another year. We'll move on. Missing out on top 4 might not be the worst thing in the world, but as well as having a good moan (nothing wrong with that) we must absolutely never lose sight of what they've achieved.

Can someone please put the old thread title on so those of us who work for a living (!) can see it. I'm currently on a Teams meeting which is boring the life out of me, so I'd like to see the full thread title so I can see why it was changed. In the good old days we'd have had a parody thread straight away................aaahhh, the good old days.

Some mard arse, entitled shite like we are going to get killed never mind top 4. Probably one of the worst threads that has ever been to be fair.
That was exactly why I made a new topic called Khusanov but no one seems interested. Khusanov and Reis are City's response to the defensive issues, and Marmoush will sharpen the attack. I'm not so much interested in the goalscoring as we went 2-0 up last night and lost. And that's a trait. Reversing it will be solved by defensive measures.
