Away fans / tourists in home sections

I was chatting with a spuds fan last. A proper football chat. He was saying he was a season ticket holder for decades going home and away.
He knocked it on the head some time ago because of cost, tourists, not being able to sit with the same group.

He said spuds don't want the older fans as they don't spend in the club shop etc.

Seems spuds fans have the same moan as us.

They could fix this by selling Son to us

Hence why they are phasing out the over -65 concession over the next few years, until it is completely gone.
What a twat that guy Levy is.

Let’s hope City learn something from the United and Rangers debacle last night.

We are worse, we had blocks of Twente fans didn't we, granted we wasn't playing them but that was only recent. Madrid at home last year was a shocker. I walked up the steps to our seats and Madrid fans, with Madrid scarves and shirts were asked to just cover them up. City do not care about this in the slightest.

You can almost feel the pie and mash being beaten out of them.

It goes out for every match to those on Senior Season Tickets. They never check. The queues would be unsustainable if they did.
They do, when you swipe in concession ticket the light around lights up a different colour then if you don't look in the right age group the steward at the gate will challenge you

Will be interesting next week v Brugges. It's sold out but was the only game this season (apart from the Charity Shield) that went on open sale (no membership). Not sure what their away following is like but could be a few in our end.
There always are in European matches. There is obviously a section of hospitality for them. I am in 231 and we see a few visiting supporters every game. It has always been fairly good natured and friendly

The last time Brugge visited we saw lots of their supporters in the bar pre-match and we had a good chat with them. There was even a Cercle Brugge fan, who came along with them for the ride. He even bought beer for me and my son.

Of course this time there’s a lot riding on this game. Either team could get knocked out, although they could still survive with a defeat (depending on other results) whereas we can’t. Wednesday will be a tense night all round.

Rag mate who was OT last night said it was kicking off right behind him and same as the Etihad away fans in home stands is a regular occurrence. Can't understand it as armchair rags always told me tickets were unobtainable. No club in the Premier league is interested in fan safety if there is money to be made.

I'm guessing most Rangers fans in home sections got tickets off rags who couldn't be arsed or bought membership as soon as the draw was made.
The club knows where the Rangers fans were sitting and can ban any rag who passed on his ticket. If they had membership they can review their membership criteria. It sounds like a repeat of Galatasaray last season a similar to City v Celtic nine seasons ago.

What makes you think United don’t have partnerships to sell via online agencies like we do? They all follow the same tactics and it’s the third time it’s happened at the Theatre of Rats following PAOK and Galatasaray matches in last couple of years.

Funny how it’s not just the odd fan here or there but blocks of away fans at both our place and the swamp. All these SC holders who all sit together all decide to ‘sell’ their seat all at the same time for the same game. Bollocks it’s down to the clubs and their third party sellers. Neither club gives a shit about fan safety. With so many CCTC cameras in grounds these days it would be easy to identify the block, row and seat number and then issue a statement stating x amount of fans have had the cards rescinded and the seats will remain empty until the end of the season. That sends a message to other fans and people will see thousands of empty seats. But we all know why that doesn’t happen. I wonder how our new ticket compliance manager will react if hundreds / thousands of Brugge fans are in our end on Wednesday. I suspect you won’t hear a peep other than the usual ‘we will investigate’. It doesn’t help matters when our stewards let in away fans in the home end at the turnstiles wearing their club colours.

And a repeat of City v Everton a few seasons ago! ;-)
